Dershowitz files defamation suit against Boies, alleging extortion

Attorney Alan Dershowitz filed a defamation countersuit against fellow lawyer David Boies, claiming Boies, his law firm and Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Guiffre attempted to extort money from rich and powerful men for private settlements.

The suit, filed in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan, alleging intentional infliction of emotional distress and extortion.

It names billionaire Leslie Wexner as one of alleged extortion targets.

This lawsuit comes in response to Boies’s suit against Dershowitz that was filed in November, accusing the attorney of disparaging Boies’s law firm, Boies Schiller Flexner LLP, by calling it “the law firm of extortion, subornation of perjury and other crimes” in a Washington Post interview, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Dershowitz alleges in the countersuit that Boies’s firm said they would reveal allegations against Wexner, the CEO of Victoria Secret’s parent company, if the company didn’t provide a settlement. Epstein was Wexner’s money manager. Wexner declined to comment to the Journal, reiterating that he wasn’t aware of Epstein’s criminal behavior.

Boies rose to national prominence for three major cases: leading the U.S. federal government's successful prosecution of Microsoft in United States v. Microsoft Corp., his unsuccessful representation of Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore in Bush v. Gore, and for successful representation of the plaintiff in Hollingsworth v. Perry, which invalidated California Proposition 8 banning same-sex marriage. Boies has defended numerous other high-profile clients in the United States, including Theranos, tobacco companies, and Harvey Weinstein.

Boies, eh? This ought to be good. I have low regard for that Democrat apparatchiki of the first order. I hope Dershowitz cleans his clock.

This is (obviously) personal to Dershowitz, who, I believe, has been slandered, libeled, and wronged in this matter.

How do you know that

I’m asking respectfully

I honestly don’t know...Dershowitz certainly had some exposure,

Two women now so far making sordid claims

Folks around here are usually quick to believe these girls

I don’t know it with 100% certainty, but upon the “allegation” being made, Dershowitz reacted EXACTLY as an innocent person would react -

He DENIED it unequivocally and with great ANGER.

That’s a ‘tell’ (per Scott Adams) that a person is most likely telling the truth. OTOH, If someone hems and haws and says stuff like “they have no evidence”, that person is 100% guilty.

Curious how both this excerpt from the article and Boies' wikipedia page completely omit his role in defending Clinton during Bubba's impeachment trial.

Having followed Dershowitz since 1982:

As a criminal appellate lawyer, he won 13 of the 15 murder and attempted murder cases which he had handled, and has represented a series of celebrity clients, including Mike Tyson, Patty Hearst, and Jim Bakker. His most notable cases included the successful appeal of Claus von Bülow's 1982 conviction for the attempted murder of his wife, Sunny, ...

The man {Dershowitz} know's the law!!!! That should make David Boies very nervous.

If attorney David Boies, or anyone associated with Boies Schiller Flexner LLP, is reading this, do take note the man {Dershowitz} doesn't BLUFF!!!!!!!!! He just takes names & KICK'S Butt, very well if you ask me.

He adamantly insisted that there was innocent and demanded proof. Saying there is not one shred of evidence. If so show it. Out of all of them, I believe him.

I hate all lawyers, even the ones that got me off the hook, won money for me, and I've had to pay all my life.

It is a parasitic existence, and those dirt bags don't care a damn thing about justice, right or wrong, only getting paid and winning.

If I only had one bullet and had to shoot one of the two, David Boies would be dead before he hit the turf.

He is scummier than jerry nadler.

David Boise’ father was my High School Economics teacher. He was the ultimate nerd who wore the same crumpled brown suit everyday. But he was absolutely brilliant. A great teacher if you could get past the dry spittle at the edges of his mouth.

Boise also donated $10,000 in August of 2015, to the campaign of Manhattan D.A. Cyrus Vance, Jr. after Vance chose not to prosecute Boise’s client Harvey Weinstein on sexual offenses.
