Poor Baltimore. It didn't work then. It didn't work now.

It was a violent Ceasefire weekend in Baltimore.
"Life was being celebrated all over the city, while we were also getting notifications that we were losing people, said Erricka Bridgeford.
As Ceasefire events took place throughout the city, calling for people to put the guns down for 72 hours, police say four people were killed and fifteen people were shot.
Erricka Bridgeford helped start Baltimore Ceasefire weekends which occur four times a year.
She says this past weekend was the most violent Ceasefire weekend theyve ever had.
"We know there are over 600,000 people in Baltimore and a lot of them dont even know when a ceasefire is or heard of us, she said. "We have a lot of work to do to inform people, because what we do know is that when people know there's a Cease Fire they actually honor it, she said.
Bridgeford says the weekend wasnt overshadowed by the pain.
"While we were losing people to violence we would show up in those spaces and there was already somebody there who loved that person blessing the space and sageing the ground and they didn't even know we were coming, she said.
While the number of weekend shootings and homicides are quantifiable its the numbers Bridgeford doesnt know that keep her going.
"So it's easy to quantify how many people got shot this weekend. It's easy to quantify how many people got killed since the year started. What's not easy to quantify is how many lives are saved? How many people didn't die or get shot, because of all of the good work people are doing in Baltimore, she said.
Mayor Jack Young says hes troubled by the level of violence that currently exists in Baltimore.
Young says people need to start reporting what they see.
He says despite the violent weekend, Ceasefire efforts are working.
Those efforts are working. It could be worse. They do a great job of advocating no shootings and stop the violence. We just have to do more and really get to the systemic issue thats facing all of this criminal activity, he said. People feel hopelessness and we have to do something about that and were moving in the right direction to do those kinds of things.
This year so far, 36 people have lost their lives.
Im tired of saying it because like I keep saying it affects me too. I know what Murder does to a family, what it does to a community. I lost three nephews and no closure. One of my young cousins was gunned down in the 3500 block of Brenden Avenue just last week. It affects me as well as the rest of the citizens of Baltimore. We need to get sick and tired of being sick and tired of letting a small amount of criminals just wreak havoc on our city, he said.
Just make the city a gun free zone...
It’s like trying to negotiate with the Taliban.
I hope the cops did not respond until they had too, just look straight ahead and keep driving guys.
Must be the people there...
Nah... can’t be....
Baltimore.... Democrats whacking Democrats everywhere.. A great town and a wonderful place to sell ammo.. :)
Well, just break out your Obama maths. I's just like jobs saved. Don't these people ever learn anything?
“...when people know there’s a Cease Fire they actually honor it...”
Yeah, right...Most of the ferals don’t give a crap about anything youdo...
Bump
One of great lessons I learnt from immigrating to America: race matters
All of those political correctness are bs.
Quality of a life is quality of people in it
When I went to the first grade in 1950, on the desk assigned to me was a new #2 yellow pencil and a wooden ruler with the words "drink Coca Cola" on one side and "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You" on the other side.
That was one of the first things I learned to read....it has stuck with me my entire life.

Not really. It only matters to the racist who say they arent racist. Most people are judged on 2 criterias, are you an asshole? Are you not. Its the losers of this world that want to blame pigment so they will get noticed. The only farts that get noticed are the loudest ones.
Safest time to shoot somebody is when he's put his gun down. Thanks, Baltimore!
Since Baltimore officials give rioters room to riot, give them their space, doesn’t such a policy just encourage violence of any kind?
Rioters make a lot of money from the loot... The money is used to buy narcotics.. The democrats are the ones who sell those narcotics... BINGO..! Everyone's happy... Accept for the shop keeper, of course... :)
Why would they think that petty street thugs would abide by some stupid group’s call for anything?
Proud Liberal Democrats are killing themselves, why should I care?
Wasn’t Baltimore the sh!thole where enough drugs had been looted from the pharmacy to keep the whole city high for a year? I thought the top cop said something like that...
“I hope the cops did not respond until they had too, just look straight ahead and keep driving guys.”
That’s how NJ’s city cops work - it is called “de-policing”. Do it for 25 years, and retire before 50.
