Alabama Dem Introduces Legislation Mandating Vasectomies for Men at Age 50 or After Third Child

An Alabama Democrat state lawmaker from Birmingham has introduced legislation that, if passed would mandate, “every Alabama man to undergo a vasectomy within one month of his 50th birthday or the birth of his third biological child, whichever comes first,” according to a report from Alabama-based Yellowhammer News.

The bill, filed by State Rep. Rolanda Hollis (D) on Thursday, is viewed by some a response to the 2019 passage by the state legislature of the Human Life Protection Act, a law that is currently making its way through the federal courts that ban abortion with very few exceptions.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Okay, Rolanda, since you bring it up, a vasectomy PREVENTS a pregnancy which means no human life must be sacrificed.

If a woman wants to exercise her reproductive rights without sacrificing a human life, she can get her tubes tied or she can get a hysterectomy. Either of which I think taxpayers would be more willing to pay for than killing a human being in the womb.

I'm glad she brought this up. I can't believe this has never come up before in the discussion of Planned Parenthood's services.

PP's promoters talk about mammograms and other services which everyone knows they don't actually provide. Why doesn't PP talk about tying women's tubes or the hysterectomies they've provided over the years.

As pro-lifers, we should be introducing those ideas into the discussion.
