WASHINGTON The Justice Department recently opened an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the FBI's interview of Michael Flynn while he was serving as President Donald Trump's national security adviser, according to two people familiar with the inquiry.
Flynn pleaded guilty to giving false statements to the FBI during that interview, but recently asked to withdraw that plea, further delaying his sentencing.
Attorney General William Barr asked the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, Jeffrey Jensen, to look into Flynn's FBI interview, the people familiar with the inquiry said. The inquiry began within the past month, they said.
Around that same time, federal prosecutors on the Flynn case came under pressure from senior Justice Department officials to recommend a lighter sentence for Flynn than they had proposed, according to people familiar with the matter.
A third person familiar with the inquiry said Jensen is broadly reviewing the Flynn case.
Asked about the inquiry into Flynn's FBI interview, a spokesperson for Jensen said, "I can't answer those questions" and directed questions to the Justice Department.

Why freakin’ bother when nobody will be held accountable anyway. An investigation done by the Feds is a travesty...wasted taxpayer dollars.
Imagine the billable hours.
How dumb do these people think we are?
LOL. This is obviously campaign season red meat for the Trump voters. Barr has been AG exactly 1 year today. There have been questions about the Flynn investigation just as long. Had he been serious about this issue he would have investigated it long before now.
F Barr
No matter what the outcome l hope the day after the election Trump pardons everyone
HAHAHAHAHAHA, sure, the DOJ is “investigating” yep, OK.

I dont know what Barr is up to but look at these two US Attorneys he has put on the case this week. One to see what the hell happened with Flynn, the other to look into Rudys Ukrainian research. No one is more pi$$ed off about McCabe than me but these two picks dont look like typical swamp
justice.

Great chance to pad the expense budget too. They know how to play the system well. I'd like to know how much it cost taxpayers for the McCabe investigation that ended in no charges.
Hope they’re better than John Huber.
It wasn’t on this thread but I read about public hangings constantly.
BTW this is also the Justice Department that just got Avenatti convicted. Let’s view the whole picture.
Bingo.
"If you think what you have is a flawed process, or some larger policy issue that needs to be addressed, than you might go to the IG," Rosenberg said. "If you think you have a crime then you would go to a U.S. attorney."
Amen
Cool, another inquiry. Maybe in a year and a half they can release a report telling us they found no evidence of bias.
The IG is a Dem Scam.
We found out Horowitz was making urgent calls to Rosenstein to see that WAPO reporters were treated better!
The IG is a Scam.
Its where you send something to die four years later.
.
Is that a rethorical question, or is this?
I just had to go and change my clothes. I was listening to Mark Steyn/Rush and he was talking about "Queers Against Mayor Pete" and I could not contain my self.
If you are a Rush 24/7 member, go to Rush and listen to the third hour {or all of them} and you will piss your self {as I did, laughing with Mark and his rendition of 'Queers against Mayor Pete'}.
No one can replace Rush, but Mark Steyn will become the 'illegal immigrant' voice instead of Rush when Rush is not available.
I've been listening to Rush from the beginning and I've heard every Rush substitute, from chrisy matthews, Sean Hannity, Louie Gohmert, Walter Williams etal, and Mark is the best...bar none.
That said, NO ONE can take the place of Rush Limbaugh, the guy that changed the course of American History, because he told us, we are not alone.
As a conservative in 1988, me and a couple of pals were distraught, because Reagan was out and Bush was in, and none of us trusted Bush 41.
And then along came Rush, slow walk'en Rush, slow talk'en Rush, along came RUSH and saved the next three decades, and gave us hope.
30+ years later, we still have hope {and our guns}.
At the end of the movie "Untouchables" where Al Capone was being sent to the slammer, the line was, "Never quit, never give up, never stop until the fight is won".
Thanks for the lecture Dad.
...these two picks dont look like typical swamp justice.
Hope so! I sooooo want something to heartily cheer for, for once.
“You want a Justice syste. that reads like a scorecard? I dont.”
Here is what I don’t want: A Justice system that is obviously and totally biased!
Like Mark Steyn says, if you are part of The Club, you never need to fear a penalty. If you aren’t, you can never rest easy!
Yep!! Now we know why he went on tv yesterday!! Blame the president and at the same recuse all responsibility on the McCabe fiasco AND, the clincher be loved by the left! Wonder when his book is out too!!
