Pelosi names first-ever House whistleblower ombudsman director

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Friday announced the first director of a new office within the House to establish best practices for lawmakers to receive confidential information from whistleblowers about government wrongdoing.

The office was established as part of the House rules package adopted in January of last year at the start of the current session of Congress. But the appointment of its first director comes after the conclusion of the process launched by House Democrats to impeach President Trump.

Pelosi said that she has appointed Shanna Devine, who most recently worked at the progressive watchdog Public Citizen, to lead the Office of the Whistleblower Ombudsman.

“Whistleblowers shine a bright light on malfeasance in our government and the private sector,” Pelosi said in a statement. “There has long been a bipartisan commitment to protecting the voices of those who speak the truth and put their livelihoods on the line to root out waste, fraud and abuse."

Pelosi added that Devine's "deep policy experience will be vital, as the first-ever director of the Office of the Whistleblower Ombudsman, as she works to ensure that the House has the support and tools to carry out our legislative oversight responsibilities for the American people.”

"to establish best practices for lawmakers to receive confidential information from whistleblowers about government wrongdoing. "

Government wrongdoing in the House of Representatives for the sole purpose of creating bogus articles of re-impeachment. It's just the opposite of what she says...Best practices? More like worst practices...

What could go wrong with Lefty loon in this role

Shanna Devine is the worker health and safety advocate for Public Citizen’s Congress Watch division. In that capacity, she plays a leading role managing Congress Watch’s policy and advocacy on occupational health and safety, including whistleblower rights for public and private sector employees.

Shanna received her master of public management degree from the University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Critical Theory and Social Justice at Occidental College. Previously, Shanna served as lobbyist with Public Citizen’s Access to Medicines Program, where she advocated for policies to make medicines available worldwide by challenging pharmaceutical industry monopoly power. Prior to joining Public Citizen, Devine was the Legislative Director for the Government Accountability Project, a whistleblower protection and advocacy organization located in Washington, D.C.

So the question is...once Nancy is ‘fired’ in November, and the new crew arrive in January 2021....will this position just go away?

Is this something the house can do on its own? Any senate involvement?

Can it go to the courts?

If Pelosi is setting it up then it might be a House-only set of practices concerning whistleblowers. By Jan 20, 2021, there will be no more of that bullshit.

...

When are we going to see a bright light on all the taxpayer money that was used to pay off sexual harassment claims by members of Congress?

Speaker Penlosi appointed Shanna Devine to the new House Office of "Whistleblower Ombudsman"----
to establish practices for lawmakers to receive confidential information from about govt wrongdoing.

Nice. So I guess taxpayers will soon know:
<><> where millions of tax dollars went to settle claims for sexual harassment by elected members.
<><> what happened to Hillary's State Dept's missing $6 billion tax dollars.

Just to name a few outrages.

There isn’t recoup on the taxdollars already flushed down the congressional toilet for Mueller and the un-impeachment. And no mention is made of that, yet a NEW plan and reorganization is rolled out.

The question remains; when is the house gonna quit flushing tax dollars down the toilet? Get to work! Y’all are grossly overpaid for the actual work that gets done.

And while you’re at it, fix that fraud, waste, and abuse malignancy that permeates your House MaligNANCY.

“Whistleblowers shine a bright light on malfeasance in our government and the private sector,

And when they come for you #pettypelosi, will they be disbanded or will the information just be modified to fit the narrative?

Just another bureaucratic cesspool operating in the swamp.

I wonder how much funding to this crap will eventually make into the politicians pockets?

Are any of the positions noted real jobs?

Is a BA in critical theory real or plastic?
