So many pipe dreams....
The Ukraine was foolish to throw away their nuclear capability. Just the threat from a small arsenal would make the Russians wary of an attack. Taiwan is in a similar situation and I would hope they were prudent enough to (like Israel and South Africa) build the bombs and let it quietly be known they have them.
