Whereas several other charges with which McCabe could be charged, occurred in DC and other locales and could be filed outside the district.

Yeah well wake me when that happens.

Listening to Gowdy now who seems to downplay DOJ not prosecuting McCabe. He claims that he was just guilty of leaking to improve his credibility. No mention of the fact that he lied to the FBI at least three times under oath. That should be indictable, especially given the treatment of Flynn, Papadopoulos, and Stone. Worrisome concerning Barr who may be trying to run out the clock before the election.

The problem at hand is much more important: punish the Coup Plotters. A McCabe trial should not interfere with that.

Punish the coup plotters? I’m reading Sondland had top cover from the GOP Senate. Stunning giving he was Trump’s ambassador! Then there is Vindman being decorated by the Army for his role in the coup. He’s off to get his ticket punched at the War College and has publicly been cleared of wrong doing by no less than the Secretary of the Army.

So much winning there.

Matt Gaetz is on with Maria today.I don't know where he will be.Maybe still in Key west as he was for Martha the other night. He will be on the "View" later this week.

.......................

Here is a piece I have been working on this morning as I drove from Key West back to Islamorada.

ANATOMY OF A REAGAN DINNER

Last night the Fla.Keys GOP held it's biggest and best ever Annual Reagan Dinner Fund Raiser in Key West Fla.The annual fund raiser began at 5:30 pm at the Marriot Beach Side Hotel and lasted until about 9:00 pm. In between was the greatest event we have ever had. We raised in excess of 100K to be used to keep the party in office in almost all elective offices in the Keys.

Our headliners were North Fla. Congressman Matt Gaetz and Chief of Staff to President Trump Mick Mulvaney.

The story of how it all unrolled is below.I use it and print is so others who also hold fundraisers might get a tip or two on how we proceeded and how it all wound up.

The keys are 125 miles long but extremely narrow we rotate events between the Upper, Middle and Lower Keys.

After Trump was elected we knew that it was going to take some serious bucks to keep our elective offices in Republican control. We had a super successful initial fundraiser some months ago with Fla. Attorney General Ashley Moody raising almost 30k.

More important we laid a foundation of about a dozen or so key people who would make the next event happen and headed it all by two superior guys from Key West who went beyond the pale and performed better that ever expected.

Our initial problem was to get a guest who could draw big money and lots of people. The Moody event was sold at $125 and we had around 150 in attendance. This time we wanted to ask 150 with at least 200 paid.

Our goal was to have 60 or 70k to distribute to our candidates running for everything from mosquito control to the dc House. We needed big headliners.

We tried to get several Fla. big names but kept failing due to schedule problems with those we were after. Finally we had two great things happen neither of which we had anticipated. First at a luncheon attended by local politicos in Islamorada we had a visitor from North Fla. sit in with us. I sat next to him and casually asked "hey do you know Matt Gaetz is he in your area?"

Ironically, he knew Gaetz and had known him for years! Naturally, I said: Wow! "Can you get him to speak at our function in Jan or Feb." Two months later we had a commitment.

The other ironic happening was that we learned that Mick Mulvanely visited the Lower Keys on a regular basis since he had relatives there.

Didn't take long and we have another commitment from Mulvanely.

Now to sell it all.

One technique we used by a member, who was so good we could not believe it, was to go to a local airport, get the tail numbers off the private planes and fund raise from there! It worked with thousands coming in some joining us other just donating.

Amazing!!

Finally, the big night came after a dozen or so conference calls lasting up to 2 1/2 hours detailing every possible problem that could happen and organizing every detail to it's finest tune. All this helped enormously and made the entire event go basically flawlessly.

Mick Mulvaey spoke first and was terrific with so much knowledge it's impossible to impart it all here. I'll give two examples he gave us that really drove home what the President is up to.

Mulvaney had been asked by the President whether or not he should go to Davos. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/president-trump-announces-presidential-delegation-switzerland-attend-world-economic-forum-3/ Mick told him in no uncertain terms should he attend. He gave numerous reasons. The President then said: you are wrong and I'm going anyway.

President Trump went to Davos. He gave a speech that had to be delivered on a world wide basis an it will now go down in the history books.

When he returned to the White House he happened to see Mick and told him: "see Mick you were wrong! Mulvaney laughed and said yes Mr. President I was."

On yet another story the president told Mulvaney at 5:00 pm one day that he wanted a full briefing on some intricate dealings with changing the way the US does business.

Mulvaney told him he had just the guy and would contact him. The President said good. I'll see you in 20 minutes!! Mulvaney said uhhh....Ok.

Mulvaney contacted the new guy who was young in his late 20's and told him that the President wanted to see him in 20 minutes and to be ready with a huge area of detail on govt. business that was extremely intricate.

The young fellow said I'll be there. Mulvaney told the guy: "the President will interrupt you after about 30 seconds and start with an array of complex questions so be ready.

The young guy said OK.

The presentation on changing govt. methods began in 20 minutes and for the first seven minutes the young brilliant guy was not interrupted. Finally, the potus said to the young guy what you said is all well and good but here is my question:

If you were Tiger Woods would you be just as interested as you are now in what you just told me? The young man took his glasses off looked at the President and told him:

Sir if what I just told you comes true Tiger Woods will want to be me!

What a moment! Mulvaney went on to explain that there are dozens of brilliant guys working on every possible problem that occurs in govt. and this guy was one of many.

Meanwhile a few moments later Matt Gaetz was also brilliant an both he and Mick got standing O's before and after their presentations.

Gaetz is so charismatic that you can barely follow what he says since he's all over the place from terrorism to why the dems will fail in Nov.

His presentation was flawless and went so well he was interrupted by applause as was Mulvaney many times.

All in all it was flawless night and I got photos of both guys and will share as soon as they are computer read.

I agree but it is far more than “just” spying on Pres. Trump and his campaign. While that’s unprecedented and deeply criminal, there’s the whole Hillary email investigation that was the opposite in DoJ malfeasance.

They gave half her staff immunity, her “questioner” was Peter Stroke/Struck, who found no fibbing but also interviewed General Flynn and called him a liar (which got him indicted and ruined).

She destroyed evidence, Seth Rich was murdered, the FIB never examined the server, the Pakistani IT staffers stealing secrets from the House, the Uranium One deal, the IRS denying non-profit status, the Benghazi SHAME, Fast and Furious...

The whole thing is a series of one-two punches sent to the solar plexis of our country.

Barr cries that he loves justice and America and this whole thing needs to be dealt with and yet he is burying/hiding it. Despicable!!!!

Ultimately, I blame the Kenyan, but then he did what most democrats would do. Think about Bill Clinton and you’ll remember similar things.

But Barr promised to fix it, he could, but he’s not. Total fraud.

Seriously, I ask myself why I bother to follow the law when no one is looking? No justice, no peace.

One of the 7 languages that he speaks is Maltese. Someone on FR calls Pete the Maltese Faggot (a takeoff on the novel Maltese Falcon.).

If Hollywood ever remake Mr. Smith goes to Washington, Mr. Smith would either be gay or transgendered.

I saw some Mike Bloomberg commercials, and realized that I probably had never heard him speak before. What a boring guy.

We will see if Bloomberg can buy the nomination. Right now, I see him as another Jeb Bush. Money can't buy you love or a personality. The talk of a Dem dynamic duo consisting of 78 year old Bloomberg and 73 year old Hillary is just that, talk. Will the rank and file Dems support such a ticket? Doubtful. The Dems need a minority on the ticket, not two old white geezers.

I flew an L-1011 and then a 747 across the USA and then the Pacific to Sydney, Australia.

The aircraft from Sydney to Adelaide was an MD-80/DC-9 variant and the pilot flew like an combat pilot. The flight disparity between the big birds to this one was huge.

It was right at dusk. I had a window seat. He did a left-hand bank and climb at at least 45 degrees. I looked down and saw two huge lights coming right at us. Just as I was about to scream like a woman I realized it was a football field with its lights just turned on.

This is outragous. I specifically recall former DAG Whitaker on Fox News defending the prosecution of Flynn because Flynn had and I quote “Lied to the FBI.”

Never mind whatever Flynn said was in a perjury trap interview, never mind countless Democrats have not been prosecuted much worse, never mind their is a real question if he did lie, etc., etc. The GOP is just fine with Flynn’s life being ruined. Flynn’s real crime of course was daring to support Donald J. Trump and for that the swamp wants his head.

To now see Gowdy carry water for McCabe and the “Barr” DOJ is beyond pathetic.

So, how about Mark Levin?

Doubtful he could ever get confirmed. Too many RINOs would block it. Similar to what happened to John Ratcliffe and the DCI job. Actually, John would make a great AG.

Minor correction: Cotton is from Arkansas.
(Maybe your source of the guest info is who got it wrong?)
I often confuse Alaska (AK) for Arkansas (AR) in the postal service abbreviations; I can understand how AR could be taken as Arizona (AZ).

Trump has many things under control except who he can trust and who he can’t. But eventually he will get there as well.
Brilliant post.

Bray........ thanks again for your very insightful opinion pieces. I look forward to reading them weekly. I especially like the biblical reference at the beginning as it provides food for thought, as do your comments.
I read an article by Rush’s brother David. He went through some of the disgusting tweets/emails Rush has received, but countered this with other examples of an outpouring of love and prayers for Rush.
For some reason, this year, I have been thinking that this will be Rush’s last year on radio. I thought he might retire. I did not expect to hear him say he had stage 4 lung cancer. I have been a listener since he first started in Sacramento in 1988. We lived in that area then and always laughed about his Rio Linda jokes).
I have had many disagreements with him over the years and sometimes had to turn him off. Now each day with him has become quite precious to me. There is simply no-one like him.

For sure Rush has left a legacy one can only dream of especially someone who has a background in brodcasting. What he has accomplished will be used as textbook fare for decades when it come to the “how—to” of talk radio. He created it all like no one else.
