Yup. Anyone who doesn’t have a genuine serious disability can be self- sufficient. Especially in this good economy with Help Wanted signs all over. Temporary setbacks can occasion a little temporary help I acknowledge but welfare should not be a Way of Life for anybody who has the ability to work. It’s demeaning and basically destroys a person

welfare as a way of life....
////////////////////////////////////

When the late Paul Harvey had his daily show he said people used to hide the fact they had a setback and had to accept government money for a time. They didn’t want the shame of having people hear about it.

Later people changed from calling it an embarrassing handout to calling it an “entitlement.” They defiantly and boldly demand their entitlements and want them for as long as they feel like it.

Now they’ll say “you owe me college education tuition” and “you owe me full medical and surgical coverage free to me.”
And “because you didn’t pay early enough now you owe me the payoff of my college loan, too.”
