Will there be trouble in Europe between the Union and the countries that drop out long term?
I don’t believe some Eastern European countries will be in it for a lot longer
Just 2 very different ideologies.
Or I could be completely wrong :)
The Eastern Europeans have been pretty smart. They don’t have the same romantic view of the EU Yurps (western European elites) have. Between structural funds for infrastructure projects and the agriculture subsidy, they are receiving a decent chunk of money from the EU every year. Also their citizens can go get higher paying jobs in Western Europe. For so long as they continue to benefit economically, they will stay in.
BUT
They will not let the Yurps bully them on lots of important issues like bathroom confusion, open borders (ie muslim invasion), etc.
If the flow of money from Brussels ever stops, they’ll tell the Yurps to go screw themselves the next day.
