It is hard to believe that John Bel Edwards graduated from West Point. Maybe he only wants to make money these days - and not do real work.
I guess the qualification for the current Mayor of New Orleans is that she is a (1) Democrat. (2) an Afro-American. (3) a woman.
Sad. How sad.
Don't get killed at work in Louisiana...
EVERY city that is run by a DEMOCRAT Mayor is a DISASTER!!
It’s Nawlens and a private project. What do you expect the mayor and the governor to do exactly?
Seems to me all that is going on now is they're lookin at how much they can tax/scam the public to pay for it.
How embarrassing.
It’s a fitting symbol for New Orleans, a crime-riddled city that spits on its own history and heritage and embraces useless, empty substitutes. A narcissistic mayor and his leftist eggers-on took down beautiful monuments of people significant to the city’s past. I think the death and ruin represented by the collapsed building is a great new replacement monument to the reality of New Orleans today.
I have a problem with someone who ran a political campaign who used photo of himself under a statue of General "Blood & Guts" Patton.
Like John Bel Edwards is in the 'same league' as General Patton.
One thing Admiral Chester Nimitz refused to do after World War II was use the blood of American sailors and soldiers to side with others politically.
Reminds me of post Katrina - if it happened in MS, the site would be cleaned up and the bodies recovered and plans for the site being made.
They’re just proving the total disarray and incompetence after Katrina wasn’t a fluke.
Amazing. You can bet the vermin have found those bodies and are picking them apart.
I can understand underground coal miners or people lost at sea where you don’t try to recover the bodies but, this is an above-ground construction site. Why are they not attempting to recover the bodies and *then* they can all fight over how much it costs and who has to pay for it?
This just shows a wanted disrespect for human life, IMO.
How much money is wasted pretending to educate?
(BTW, Detroit illiteracy is 47%)
The problems are many, yet all related. In democrat run cities, when there is a lot of money involved, the level of greed and corruption far outweighs the obligation to do things according to pesky little things like laws and codes. The building was poorly designed, poorly built, poorly inspected, and now it is a dangerous liability both physically and legally because of how it got to this point.
The Hard Rock Hotel in Biloxi, Miss was days away from opening when Hurricane Katrina destroyed it. The Beau Rivage, right next door, cleaned up and reopened in a short time. The Hard Rock had to be totally rebuilt. It makes me think long and hard about engineering and construction that goes into Hard Rock Hotels.
Big bang coming in March, maybe..
In their most recent update, city leaders said the Hard Rock
developer, 1031 Canal, has hired the company D.H. Griffin to
implode the site in mid-March.
