An attorney for Julian Assange alleged in court Wednesday that President Trump offered a pardon to Julian Assange if he would deny any Russian involvement in the Democratic National Committee (DNC) hack in 2016.
Edward Fitzgerald, Assange's lawyer, said in a London court that Trump's message had been passed on to Assange by former Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.).
Fitzgerald said a statement made by Jennifer Robinson, another lawyer for Assange, shows "Mr. Rohrabacher going to see Mr Assange and saying, on instructions from the president, he was offering a pardon or some other way out, if Mr Assange... said Russia had nothing to do with the DNC leaks."
White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham on Wednesday denied the account.
The President barely knows Dana Rohrabacher other than hes an ex-congressman. Hes never spoken to him on this subject or almost any subject. It is is a complete fabrication and a total lie. This is probably another never ending hoax and total lie from the DNC, Grisham said in a statement.
The DNC did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and Rohrbacher could not immediately be reached for comment.

If you can’t trust Assange’s lawyer who can you trust?
Even if true, that bridge has now been burned.
What an utterly imbecilic thing for a lawyer to say knowing full well that revealing it would pretty much negate any chance of your client getting a pardon. Sounds like more fake news to damage Trump.
Froll Troll Bait
Garbage
Given that Assange has previously stipulated that the Russians were not the source of the DNC material that was obtained by Wikileaks, it would be appropriate for Trump to offer the pardon as long as Assange agreed to push the story instead of bury it.
It would be inappropriate for someone in the Trump administration, or their representative, to offer a pardon based on lying about the Russian hack, but this does not appear to be the case. This is implied by the posted article, because that is a way to slam President Trump.
Totally agree.....................
HEY DNC! SHOW US THE SERVER!
Assange has already said in a public broadcast years ago that Russia did not hack the DNC.
By now we know that POTUS does not make quid pro quo deals.
That doesn’t make any blinking sense, Assange wouldn’t know that.
I say it was Chrissie Hynde, in the parlor, with a candlestick!
“If you cant trust Assanges lawyer who can you trust?”

Jeffrey Epstein didn’t kill him, either.
But both Rich & Epstein had more than a passing acquaintance with HilLIARy
BS
Assange is specifically on record on dozens of interviews stating the Russians did not do it.
So was he lying then
Or is his lawyer lying now to block Extradition?
He has stated this from the beginning. Why would he not continue with what he has been saying all along.
This report does suggest Assange is coming to the US soon.
I don’t believe a damn word of what he says.
The reason he was holed up in the Ecuador embassy is that Sweden wanted him on rape charges. He feared he would be charged, and extradited from Sweden, but there were no US charges against him until 2019. That's when Ecuador kicked him out.
This sounds like a plant so the media can claim quid pro quo by Trump. If Trump didn’t offer this, he surely won’t now.
The only way Trump would make such and offer is if Assange had the evidence to prove it. And at that point their would be nothing wrong with such an offer. Prosecutors make deals like that every day.
You got called it for what it is. If I remember correctly, Assange said it wasn’t the Russians before there was any need for a pardon.
Trump should award Seth Rich the Medal of Freedom posthumously. Liberal heads would explode!
Hasn’t Assange said none of his sources are Russian? So why would President Trump ask him to say what he’s already said?
