President Trump could have a plan, or he could just be trolling the Democrats. It not like Blagojevich was a serial killer or that he had not spent time in prison. So I am ok with this even if we do not know why (other than the stated reasons).

This is a total "screw you" to the Mueller/ComeyFBI cabal and to the Obama Chicago Dem criminal power syndicate.
It is a brilliant maneuver.
Also, Blago has big loyal minority support – he would be an effective "Trumpocrat" spox to help Trump capitalize on his legal reform policies.
This is a sophisticated chess move; Trump is a genius political tactician, while remaining underestimated by his enemies. He's out-politicking the pols.
That being said, Blago is Clintonian, and hard to control, so he's a mixed bag as an asset.
