On Wednesday, President Trump's former national security advisor, John Bolton, made a public appearance alongside Obama's former national security advisor, Susan Rice, at Vanderbilt University, where he blasted the Democrats' grossly partisan impeachment against Trump, and downplayed the impact of the testimony he would have had on the outcome of the impeachment vote.
According to Bolton, the House committed impeachment malpractice." He added that the process drove Republicans who might have voted for impeachment away because it was so partisan.
Bolton also revealed that he was surprised the Senate voted against him testifying, but dowplayed the impact his testimony would have had anyway. People can argue about what I should have said and what I should have done. I would bet you a dollar right here and now, my testimony would have made no difference to the ultimate outcome.
Susan Rice was critical of Bolton for his silence. I cant imagine withholding my testimony, with or without a subpoena, she said. I also cant imagine, frankly, in the absence of being able to provide that information directly to Congress, not having exercised my First Amendment right to speak publicly at a time when my testimony or my experience would be relevant.
Bolton still refused to divulge details about his forthcoming book, which perhaps suggests that the information he has is nothing new, and doesn't contain any evidence of actual wrongdoing by President Trump. We still haven't seen actual excerpts from the book, and since Bolton believes that his testimony wouldn't have changed the outcome, it's probably safe to say when the book does come out, a lot of people who pre-ordered it expecting it to be Trump's downfall will be very disappointed.

Happy now, Brad Pitt?
I said from the first that Bolton’s testimony was a poisoned chalice for the Democrats, and they expected that, which is why they never subpoenaed him.
The best SOS we never had per Freepers.
Bolton must be waking up to the fact that the liberals were never going to buy his book and he has thoroughly pissed off the people who might have bought it.
Rice is willing to truthfully testify?
Get Linda on the horn to start hearings.
Rats don’t usually try to slither back up the anchor chain, and when they do, they usually get crushed.
FOAD Bolton. You made your bed, now go lie in it.
Twitter convinced the Dems that this would be a political winner, even if there was no chance of actually removing him from office. Pelosi was screwed either way she went, but at least this way she’s still speaker of the house. Had she opposed impeachment in September she’d have been deposed from her position and they would have proceeded anyway without her.
Could have used this statement from you A FEW WEEKS AGO, John.
I guess the giant offer from CNN never came to be.
Get lost John. And shave off that ridiculous moustache.
“Bolton must be waking up to the fact that the liberals were never going to buy his book and he has thoroughly pissed off the people who might have bought it.”
Yep! It makes me happy to think that John Bolton screwed up his chance to make a few more bucks.
I said that Bolton’s testimony would help Trump.
You could have chosen to stand with the President last month when it would have been helpful. Mark Levin has been calling him out and calling him a disgrace. I suggest he had respect for Levin at some point and when Levin decided that he’d seen enough and called him out he took notice. Bolton is for Bolton. At least now that’s clear.
And then Susan Rice spoke up and demonstrated what such grossly partisan behavior looks like.
“Get lost John. And shave off that ridiculous moustache.”
His mustache reminds me of that Got Commercial.
I think John has stuck his finger in the political winds and sees now that going against the President and the new powers that be can be hazardous to you and has adjusted accordingly!
>>>Could have used this statement from you A FEW WEEKS AGO, John.<<<
Yes, so true. Back then he was hoping to sell books until the NSA ripped whole passages out of it due to the classified nature of the material. What a dolt! How did he ever think he could publish government secrets?
Retire John. Pick up solitaire. It suits you.
Even with his over inflated ego, John Bolton is aware that those who were singing his praise were the same group that made sure he was never Secretary of State or any other meaningful official requiring Senate confirmation.
Bolton finally realized he was being used as a tool.
Too bad the Bush Family hasn’t figured this out yet.
