Good article. She’s right that Bernie and his bots are not well-intentioned. They are would-be mass murders.
More likely Bernie and Jane saw how the commissars lived and wanted to live that way, complete with a whole country of peasants to kowtow to them.
Bernie isn’t hopelessly naive. He knew damn good and well the reality behind the Potemkin villages he was being shown and touting later.
He just refuses to admit it because he plans to do it to us. He approves of their methods and sees them as “necessary”.
A generation that can’t tell you who Felix Dzerzhinsky or Pol Pot were or what they did has no moral position from which to judge a deranged freak like Sanders. They listen to his happy talk propaganda and think it’s real.

I agree with the overall message of the article but how a person living in a Bay Area might criticise Soviet public transit? It was the golden standard of efficiency comparing to what she has now both in cities with metro systems and in smaller cities too.
Her complains about theaters as ‘non-market based’ are strange too. Soviet theaters played classics. I guess she likes SF sort of drama involving interracial transgender protagonists better.
All in all Sanders is more intellectually dishonest than naive in his opinions of Soviet system.
