Stone files motion demanding judge recuse herself from ruling on new trial request

Attorneys for Roger Stone late Friday filed a motion arguing the federal judge who sentenced him to more than three years in prison should recuse herself from deciding his request for a new trial.

Defense attorneys said Judge Amy Berman Jackson’s statements just before sentencing Stone Thursday afternoon show she’s already made up her mind about whether a juror was biased against the longtime GOP operative.

Stone is seeking a new trial based on social media posts by the forewoman in his trial, Tomkea Hart, saying she never should have been allowed on the jury because of Twitter posts mocking Stone’s arrest. She has also called Trump supporters racists.

Moments before Judge Jackson handed down Stone’s sentence on Thursday afternoon, she praised the jury for their work in the case.

While accusing Stone’s attorneys of raising a “Who cares?” defense, Judge Jackson gave a lengthy speech expressing her disgust with that argument.

“The jurors who served with integrity under difficult circumstances cared. The American people cared. And I cared,” she told the courtroom.

Stone’s legal team says such emphatic statements prove Judge Jackson has prejudged his new trial bid.

“The Court’s ardent conclusion of ‘integrity’ indicates an inability to reserve judgment on an issue which has yet been heard,” his attorneys wrote in a filing just before midnight Friday.

“The premature statement blessing the ‘integrity of the jury’ undermines the appearance of impartiality and presents a strong bias for recusal,” the continued.

Ms. Hart, a former Democratic congressional candidate and anti-Trump activist, has become a focal point for Stone’s supporters.

President Trump weighed in this week saying she should have been barred from sitting on the jury.

She needs to recuse herself definitely and needs to be investigated for corruption.

A black robe admit that she’s mortal?

Not likely.

What is noteworthy is that the deep state has now abandoned any pretense of due process or pubic morality in their efforts to hold on to power and eject the Orange man -and his 65 million deplorable voters - from this planet.

The pressure is getting to Berman-Jackson, Bolshevik Operative.

She made statements that outed her - said he was covering for the President.

That’s a talking point that was never in the trial, and isn’t material. She’s either voicing her own political opinions or repeating points from her handlers.

Either way, she just blew it and revealed that it was a set up, a show trial, with a predetermined result and a Draconian sentence planned.

Deep State has worked hard to make sure she stays attached to this case.

But you are correct, she is compromised now and must stand back.

When you look at her statements she is not a real judge. She is clearly trying to get Stone to change his behavior. Not any illegal behavior. But his freedom of speech after the trial. She kept the gag order on him, even after the trial. Which is why Trump had to speak out for Stone. The prosecution asked her to keep him in jail after he was found guilty by a jury of extreme leftists.

She’s gonna deny it, and then Stone has solid grounds for an appeal based on judicial and jury misconduct.

How the hell can she gag order him AFTER the trial? How long does that order last? Since when can a convicted person be forbidden from discussing their own case?

She deserves to be impeached, removed from the bench and then disbarred. After that, she needs to be investigated and tried for her crimes against the constitution.

Get a damned rope!

“What is noteworthy is that the deep state has now abandoned any pretense of due process “

There’s no doubt in my mind that the judge recruited specific people to be called for jury for the Stone trial, and whispered those names to the Clerk for summonses to be issued to those people. The forewoman’s social media history isn’t/wasn’t a secret, and this can’t be a coincidence.

” She made statements that outed her - said he was covering for the President.”

Exactly, first impossible since Stone knew nothing first hand, he never had access to info since he was never even
a volunteer to the Trump campaign.

This Judge did a horrible job protecting Stone from a Kangaroo court trial. She did nothing with the knowledge
there were biased jurors. That is obstruction of Justice.

Where is the AG and where is Justice Roberts?

Plus an analysis of people with the same offense shows
they got only a sentence equal to one quarter the time
9 months in jail.

Justice is impossible without an unbiased judiciary. I would make proven judicial bias punishable by imprisonment of the judge for at least 5 years - without parole.
