In Puerto Rico after Hurricane Marie, they pinned the failure to deliver aid on Trump! For two years, supplies were hidden by the corrupt Governor, Mayor of San Juan and others in the cabal while they screamed that Trump didn’t care and couldn’t help them.
We were told, don’t worry, the FBI is investigating. Then for two years NOTHING... until a sole person with a mobile telephone camera opened up one of the 50,000 square foot warehouses full of rotting supplies that were hidden deliberately in an effort to damage Trump.
Any idiot can find a 50,000 foot warehouse in San Juan, it is a small town.
The people responsible for this recent CoronaVirus stunt - which was against the advice of the CDC - should be held personally accountable and if any deaths result, tried for homicide.
They should not only be fired, but imprisoned with others infected with the CoronaVirus themselves.

The masks that our clinics and hospitals bought and paid for are being shipped back to the originating factory in China. It is obviously a highly organized and rushed effort. They couldn’t wait for FedEx to do the pickups.

OK, this was my experience a couple of days ago. This is Hawaii. I was in Pharmacy X buying something (it was an off time, so there was hardly anyone there). Right ahead of me in line was an Asian lady who when she turned around was wearing a Pharmacy X shirt. Then she turned around and was buying something with the cashier. It was a whole carton of something and they were counting them, but trying to do so so you couldn’t see what it was. At one point I got a glimpse of what they were counting and it was packages of medical masks. She paid for the entire carton in cash and then left. I did hear her speaking with the cashier and she had a Filipino accent. She did at least pay. I assume they had to ring it up so there wouldn’t be a pilferage record, but she paid in cash so there wouldn’t be any identity trail.
If I had been more aggressive I would have started recording this whole thing on my phone and then posted it on Facebook. But I’m just a dumb sheep and just watched it going on.
Notably, all of the stores here, whether Pharmacy X, Walmart, or any other pharmacy or store, have been totally out of masks for weeks. Even at our local hardware store which normally has all sorts of different masks that take up an entire wall, it’s totally empty. (Yes, I have been looking for masks and never able to find any). As for the hardware store, I asked an employee what was going on and he confirmed people were buying up all the masks. He said the shipments normally come in Monday or Tuesday around noon, but as soon as they are placed on the shelves there are people there waiting who immediately buy up the entire stock.
Anyway I now know what is happening, at least at Pharmacy X branches. The masks are being bought up by employees before they ever hit the shelves. I assume they then resell them for a profit on Ebay or something like that.
I wonder what mask-producing capabilities American, Canadian and Mexican factories have. It makes sense to ship masks to China if it helps them contain the epidemic so there’s less contagion to come to America. But some plans must be made for worst-case contingencies, and on a hemispheric scale.

Because I haven’t been able to buy masks I did buy off Amazon for my immediate family and a son who lives in California (he has gotten his but we haven’t received ours yet). The seller when advertising on Amazon had an American sounding name and an address that seemed to be like North Carolina, but this morning when I went to check on the status of our shipment since we still didn’t receive it the status page recited the seller as GUANG ZHOU YOUKANG HEALTH CO.,LTD.

A related issue is how to handle communion in churches. Some denominations use a “common cup,” in which everyone drinks out of the same chalice or cup. Obviously not the greatest idea when you are faced with a communicable disease.

If you are talking about the rectangular masks, I didn’t think those procedure masks protect the wearer, they protect the patient.
I thought had to have n-95 mask to screen out smaller virus particles.
I wonder if these are new test kits or some that have been lying around for years...
Also wonder about the skill level of those administering the test kits...

IMHO the Govt trying to keep the calm here...Panic would cause major disruptions in supply chain.
Basically there are shortages with proactive prepper types buying up masks—can you imagine if everyone and their second cousin are trying to buy supplies at same time because govt declares a pandemic?
I was in Walmart last week (early a.m. when not crowded) and heard someone asking about masks...Of course clerk said we are sold out...I suspect more supplies will go in next few weeks...
Maybe CDC is hoping China will be back on feet manufacturing the masks again (they have 90+% of the manufacturing) before we need them?
by the way..the CDC has only testing 414 people so far
they want to test many more but many of our test kits are defective

Yep I think I read that CDC is only testing people w/association to people who traveled to China or people who themselves traveled to China...Had wanted to do more extensive but as you said, there are test kit issues.

There is only one N-95 mask producer...The program had several guests talking about our weakness in pharmaceutical production (almost non-existent) and mask production. The CEO of the mask company tried to get Obama administration to realize the National Security ramifications of no to little production in USA...crickets from Barry...
