Cable news personalities had a lot to say about Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (D-VT) early lead in the Nevada caucuses Saturday, with MSNBC's Chris Matthews likening it to the shock of France falling to Germany during WWII.
“It looks like Bernie Sanders is hard to beat... I think it's a little late to stop him, and that's the problem,” Matthews said during a panel segment. “It's pretty much over unless that changes.”
He then dropped the eyebrow-raising WWII reference, seemingly as a way to describe how Sanders has—in his view—clinched the Democratic nomination.
“I'm reading last night about the fall of France in the summer of 1940. And the general calls up Churchill and says, ‘It’s over,’” Matthews said. “And Churchill says, ‘How can it be? You got the greatest army in Europe. How can it be over?’ He said, ‘It's over.’”
Other pundits also marveled at Sanders’ lead, with CNN’s Van Jones claiming the jaws of the Democratic “establishment” were “hanging off their faces.”
“Nobody thought six months ago thought we would be sitting here with Bernie Sanders on his way to the nomination. He's on his way to the nomination,” he said. “Something could happen to stop him. Somebody may have some marbles to throw at the stairs or banana peel, they better find it. Because this guy is off and running.”
Jones commented on the impressive Latino turnout for the Vermont senator, claiming that he was “running as if he's a Latino candidate now.”

Whyare they so shocked that Latinos want the free stuff that Communists promise them? So do most Blacks and many Whites. Lots of people want other people’s money. Germany outflanking the Maginot Line by invading Belgium first had more to do with France’s fall than secret societies.
And France trying to fight the last war, instead of the current war.

Flipping channels I saw Matthews getting rained on. Seemed to be a fitting end to their 2020 campaign as this is a big win for Trump and will help us down ticket.
Trump was an insurgent candidate who ran as a Republican. He triangulated the party by rejecting the Bush Iraqi Wars and appealed to the lunchpail guys who got Nixon and Reagan elected.
Democrats had their own insurgency from the left from Sanders and bought him off in 2016. There’s nobody in the field that will come close to Bernie’s number of delegates. To let Bloomberg buy it or pick someone who hasn’t been in the fight is going to send Bernie Bros into 1968-style riots outside the convention hall. Their only positive is he’s old and already suffered a heart attack and has no heir apparent.
Dems are stuck for 2020 with the monster they’ve created with Cultural Marxists dominating education and importing 3rd worlders willing to vote for handouts.
It only took a decade for Venezuala to go from a prosperous South American country to people boiling cats and dogs to survive. That’s the true face of socialism. As long as young people are either kept ignorant of its dangers or indoctrinated to view it positively we’re going to have a challenge with the next pied piper of leftism.

If Bernie gets the nomination he’ll have a hard core of followers excited to hit the pavement and recruit others to the cause. They will blanket every college campus, shopping mall, every outdoor event, they will knock on every door on every street in their enthusiasm.
Hard to fake enthusiasm and it sells itself.
Who has no enthusiastic followers?

Klobuchar

If I wanted to sow discord in the dem ranks I would I would vote for Biden, Warren or whoever was close enough to grab delegates away from Bernie.
