So, in the Georgia senate race, Johnny Isakson retired early. Doug Collins wanted the job but Republican Governor Kemp (who beat the cow Stacey Adams) chose Kelly Loeffler to serve as Isakson’s replacement. She’s been there since the new year.

So, who is she? Is she the RINO some say? I honestly don’t know. WE sure know who the RINOs are of those who served a while now, and I wish we would support THEIR challengers as much as FReepers seem to support Collins...

I personally wish that Collins doesn’t run against her. So far, she’s done nothing wrong, but voted for the right things.

how has evolution lasted for 150 years

Because it isn't science....no more so than global warming. Pushed by at least, the Dept of Education and the teachers unions. And probably higher than that, the leftover 1960s Soviet professors who taught the "teachers".

If I get down to the Jetport now, luck out on a standby and make all my connections.....

Nah....I’ll never make it for dinner.

Gotta know about this.

“We could well increase margins in the Senate....worst case a slim majority.”

My biggest fear this November is whether we retain control of the Senate. Trump would literally be “gelded” with a roadblock in the advise and consent of U.S. Justices. I’m afraid he would be restricted by Schumer if nothing more than revenge.

It’s red eye gravy.

The folks down here put coffee in it, hence I call it coffee gravy.

Are you a young earthier?

God uses science to create His universe. Evolution is one of His method.

God doesn’t snap His fingers to make things, but uses intricate complex rules well evident in physical science over time, without having to wait, because He exists outside of time.

“A day is as a thousand years, a thousand years but a day, to the Lord.”

Yes, it’s scary indeed....to think of losing that backstop, but as things look today, let’s not lose sleep.

Who will endorse this democratic platform of taxes, socialism, gender confusion, destruction of the economy, immigration...and that’s just for starters.

Take nothing for granted, but they’re hurtng....moreso everyday.

My biggest fear this November is whether we retain control of the Senate.

No doubt about it...The Senate looms as the second biggest issue in the Nov 2020 election. Justice Buzzi's condition and the circuit courts are of pivotal importance. McConnell and his cohorts have been doing great work in the court appointment area: Two Supremes and this - in this last year alone, 105 Trump-appointed judges (including 20 to the powerful circuit courts) were confirmed- are of pivotal importance.

Loeffler just bought a new ride (Collins still having to stick his thumb out to get one)...

https://www.ajc.com/news/state—regional-govt—politics/loeffler-jet-georgia-campaign-trail-asset-but-also-fuel-for-critics/EZslVIdjkQv3tgfBDRth6N/

AB, you are right...she is doing all the right things at the moment. In the past, she has heavily contributed to democrats including that Bernie Socialist, Stacy Abrams. Gov Brian Kemp appointed Loeffler at last minute taking her to the White House to get Trump’s stamp of approval. Trump, instead, stamped Collins “approved”. I’m with Collins on this one.

The funny thing is that I really have little “party” loyalty and register as an Independent. There are a few senators I donate to but recognizing the need to maintain a 51 seat majority and the critical need to steer the legislative agenda, forces me to support the lesser of 2 evils in many cases. Trump is pretty adapt at swaying the senators to vote his way. Only LBJ seemed so influential. He may have some powerful coattails this Fall. If a chunk of the black vote is content to silently endorse Trump, the down ballot offices will be tend to go Red.

God uses science to create His universe.

Well duh (see: DNA)

Evolution is one of His method.

You can't prove that.

God doesn’t snap His fingers to make things

You also can't prove that God actually has fingers. And if he does, why not?

If man can dream up holograms, 3D printers, and matter replicators (Star Trek) which could create solid matter out of electrons, why couldn't an omniscient, omnipresent being, just will into existence, a jungle full of critters with everything they need to survive, just by "snapping his fingers"?

I do however, believe in extinction (survival of the fittest).

By the way, the "Big Bang" is also just a theory, just like "evolution" and "intelligent design".

Obama wasn’t openly gay. Blacks and Hispanics, 40% of Dem voters, are not that “liberated” yet.

Russia, Russia, Russia... and its influence on American elections. This is all an excuse to avoid talking about real foreign interference with our elections - how many Mexican citizens vote in American elections? Russian FaceBook ads pale in comparison.

You can't prove that.

That's true for you or for me.

It is what I believe is the truth.

But still, God gave me my brain and science. I believe God is a scientist. Respect.

She got her Senate appointment the old fashioned way, she bought it.

"According to the non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics, Loeffler and her husband have donated $3.2 million to political committees. While the majority of these donations have gone to the Republican Party, some donations have gone to Democrats, including Representative David Scott (GA–13), who received $10,200. Loeffler donated $750,000 to Restore Our Future, a Super PAC supporting former Governor Mitt Romney's 2012 presidential campaign. The National Republican Senatorial Committee received $247,500 from Loeffler and her husband."

Loeffler bought a minority stake in the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) in 2010. In 2011, Loeffler purchased the Atlanta Dream with Mary Brock, from Kathy Betty.

In 2018, Loeffler was named CEO of the new ICE-company, Bakkt, a new cryptocurrency exchange Bakkt backed by Microsoft and Starbucks.

Representative David Scott is the U.S. Representative for Georgia's 13th congressional district, serving since 2003. The district includes the southern fourth of Atlanta, as well as several of its suburbs to the south and west. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

Scott was ranked as the 18th most bipartisan member of the U.S. House of Representatives during the 114th United States Congress (and the second most bipartisan member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Georgia) in the Bipartisan Index created by The Lugar Center and the McCourt School of Public Policy that ranks members of the United States Congress by their degree of bipartisanship (by measuring the frequency each member's bills attract co-sponsors from the opposite party and each member's co-sponsorship of bills by members of the opposite party)

Agreed...If Bernie gets the nomination, I- as do others on here- see the potential for significant upsets in House races. Younger voters do not usually, as a group, have high voter turnouts.

The GA Senate race could be very divisive if not healed before the fall. It is Atlanta establishment Republicans against Trump Republicans in the rest of the State. This potential existed when David Perdue, current Senator and cousin of Sonny Perdue and current Secretary of Agriculture ran against Jack Kingston for an open seat. Luckily Governor Perdue had enough goodwill to heal the divide.
