Some of the new curriculums are a script to be followed day by day word for word. Teachers will be replaced by computers and day cay attendants soon.

The schools have been going to Hell since they were unionized about 50 years ago.

Teachers are already robots

They get the state curriculum, text books, learning materials and they must follow it or they will get a disciplinary action against them.

The seeds for this were sown by the KGB decades ago.
They had a plan to take over the education schools and change the requirements for teaching so that all teachers had to come through “education” schools.
The Soviet Union may have collapsed, but their plans to take over America are still bearing fruit.

I can vouch for that. When I taught physics, at the start of the school year I was given a big binder. It was as you said. Day 15: “Hold up a pulley. Say blah blah blah. Then write on the board blah blah blah.”

Deviate from the script even once and you’ll get a letter of reprimand. A second time and you’ll be called in for a conference. A third time is a firing offense.

It doesn’t matter if the script excludes things you know will work, or includes things that you know won’t work. You must follow the script exactly.

My advantage was that none of the people who observed me knew anything about physics. So I was usually able to teach as I knew best. I only gotten written up once.

This is why Houston will not take retired engineers and scientists as teachers. HISD will only take graduates of “colleges of education “ and nothing more. Teachers are to blindly follow the script with no exceptions. Their attitude is that the best teachers of math and science, the people who have actually researched and applied it (chemical engineers in industry, aerospace with NASA, world class medical center) are stupid and know nothing. Those that parrot the script know everything.

Teachers are replacing themselves with videos to be shown class after class. Self-learning is becoming more a mainstay than naught. Even today, elementary teachers are turning more and more to computer software to teach a wide variety of skill sets that students have in a single classroom. With the inclusion of heavy disrupting students (IEP) in the classroom and teachers virtually powerless to do anything about it, students who do want to be taught are not. The change does not start with the teachers but the 6-figure paid administration telling teachers what can and cannot be taught and said in the classroom. Laws have removed the power of the teacher when students are more afraid of being disciplined by the school secretary than they are by the teacher or principal things are need of a change. Discipline has been all but removed in the classroom for a softer and kinder version of trying to instill a more positive atmosphere and ambiance in the classroom. A student tears a phone from the teacher’s hands and hits the teacher trying to destroy the phone gets a detention. A student goofs off in class, does no work and then comes up to the teacher to have the teacher sign a piece of paper so they can go play in that night’s football game. When the teacher doesn’t sign the principal steps in and signs the paper allowing the student to play. The principal doesn’t give a warning to the student but sends him on his merrily way. there is no discipline in the classroom because legislation has changed all of that. To most teachers, the word discipline is a vile word to be spoken about. You don’t control or manipulate children as one teacher candidate found out in an interview. A school told teachers there were no such thing as late papers, a paper could be turned in on the last day of school if the student wanted and the student not held accountable for not turning the work on time. Stuff like this not by the teachers but by administration and higher up is the reason children, adolescents and teens are not learning in school today. Ever hear of the phrase “we are an all inclusionary classroom?” Yeah this means your children will never learn because a few bad students who seek to disrupt the classroom for whatever reason is to be included. And when the disruptive IEP student gets butt hurt they get allowed a time out outside of the classroom to go calm down. When they come back into the classroom they are the instigator once again until they get butt hurt again. Don’t get me wrong there are teachers who do not deserve to be teachers and there are teachers who care. However the ones who care usually get left behind while those who don’t and shouldn’t be teachers move up the chain to become the next administrator.
