“triggered” is a mental creation of the Leftists in academia.
It had, rightfully, zero support socially or otherwise until then.
If “whites” should not perform spirituals known to have began in the black churches, then “blacks” have no place in “classical” music, created by a bunch of “dead white guys”, either as players of musical instruments or vocalist. Of course the latter case is idiotic as is the former case.
Copying and replicating is the greatest form of flattery, not artistic “theft”.
Musical appreciation is musical appreciation, period, no matter the origins of the music.
Can you imagine if a white student got riled up about a black choir singing classical music, or Wagner or an Italian opera? These people are sick.
We’ll have to share songs sometime. My best is a version on Wayfaring Stranger.
And the hot sauce. Dont forget the hot sauce!
Charlie Pride was not available for comment.
This is what cultural appropriation looks like:

Geez- they must really hate M&M then
Or what about if someone did a Broadway play about historic colonial era people, who were all white, but the producers of said play specifically hired an all minority cast? Somehow I get the impression that would be ok with the liberal race baiting crowd.
But in all seriousness...
Lemme get this straight: A BLACK choir conductor tells the audience that these songs (e.g. Wade in the Water) are American spiritual songs (facts), and the campus is accused of “racial insensitivity and ignorance” ??
First all, I have BEEN to churches where this was being sung by white/black/brown folks in virtually every combination. If I were in charge of this university, this is how I would handle the matter...
Univ Dean to BSU Rep: Have a seat. Thank you. As you know, we don’t to be accused “racial insensitivity and ignorance”, and are determined to wipe it out on our campus. Wouldn’t you agree?
BSU: Of course.
Dean: And to be clear, you and your folks have a problem with people not of your skin color (i.e. white) singing songs that give honor and glory to the god of their own religion (and probably your parents and grandparents)?
BSU: Yes, we do.
Dean: Well, that sir/ma’am is the book definition of “racial insensitivity and ignorance”. I would like you, and every student who signed that stupid petition (even the white ones) off this campus. You are all hereby suspended immediately.
just my $0.02
jimjohn - OUT
LSN - he and a few other guys from church were soon at my house watching the movie. They all loved it.
Racist Democrat/Leftists acting like racists ... nothing new here.
Idiots like this make me feel like a motherless child.
I guess Marian Anderson should not be allowed to sing opera or Ray Charles sing Country music.
Both were written by whites.
I’m sorry, but who died and made our College Campuses occupied territory.
If these -——— -—holes don’t like the place, get the —— out.
When I was in school, the staff ran the place, and the staff answered to a board or some other type of management entity.
I loved what the conductor said and did: “I just got off the phone with the bass from Sweet Honey in The Rock, (an African-American a cappella ensemble) and her first question was, Has anyone looked into the mental health of the people who made those comments, he told the newspaper.”

Pastor was great...A very good guy...
We became friends...and talked about many things...He loved Blazing Saddles..!! Ha!!
I think Shaylee is an “expert”.
Should African Americans play guitars and pianos. That is the big question. Lot of cultural appropriation there
Yep.
[[and her first question was, Has anyone looked into the mental health of the people who made those comments, he told the newspaper.]]
