Important to realize that the region in Italy most affected by the COVID-19 outbreak is an area with a large concentration of Chinese immigrants and “guest workers”. Chinese workers staff the Italian garment industry. It is also a very politically incorrect but necessary question to ask the race of those who have become infected and seriously ill.

Many Caucasians and Africans live, work and studied in Wusan. It does not appear that they became infected or became seriously ill if they were infected.

Genetic susceptibility to any given pathogen is a critical factor if a pandemic is likely to occur

The newcomers were not exposed to the chronic severe air pollution for as long a time. Exposure to air pollution==> formation of additional ACE2 receptors in lungs. Same with smoking habit.
