My liberal sister and liberal BIL live in Louden Cty. Huge amounts of Chinese, Muslims, pakis, Indians. I was the only white boy in the local Wal Mart that tells you something.
My sister let it slip last night she told her daughter to keep their 6 month old baby away from foreign” people as daughter live 5 miles from Dulles airport.
Same sister who preaches diversity to me but moved to a new development further out that is mostly white when their old gated community became overrun with brown people.
I stopped at a Safeway in Fairfax County, VA to pick something up yesterday. No panic
Went to Costco this morning just because it was time and I'm off today. It was more crowded than usual for a weekday and I saw one guy wearing a mask. Instead of the usual throngs of Hispanic families, Asian restaurant owners and muslim women, there were a lot of youngish men shopping alone - both black and white.
I talked to an old friend on the phone today and she had no idea CoronaV even existed let alone the media panic.
