In areas that get snowfall you will often see this phenomenon. 12 inches of snow and you would think there will be no eggs milk or bread for months.
I have seen entire meat aisles stripped clean except for vegan stuff if the weather man predicts a bunch of snow.
I am already seeing low stock in local areas but have no way to know if it is because they just havent restocked...or supply issues, etc.
Was at the supermarket last night. Shelves still full.
My dad lives in North Carolina. Every time the snow flies there, people are gripped with an irresistible urge to make french toast as all the bread, milk and eggs disappears from store shelves.

I’ve always wondered what it was about winter weather that triggered people to make mass quantities of french toast.
We used to see that in the 70’s in Alexandria VA. We used live at an apartment around the corner from a local Safeway. The shortages we saw were the same albeit for much shorter durations. All it took was a couple of inches of snow then bingo bango no eggs milk or bread. Just like clockwork.
The next thing that happened was all the old ladies would get in their Buick deuce and a quarters (225) and drive north on Massachusetts avenue in DC, till they spun out or got stuck. LOL.
