You could have a whole school-year wiped out, with some new employee or student at the school ID’ed for the virus every two weeks. I don’t see how you could conduct graduation with sixty-odd days missing, if this were the case.

There is a Very simple solution. Florida offers an internet Public school synchronized providing the same course [plus additional courses] of the ‘brick & mortar’ schools.

This public virtual school has one major difference: students experience the attention of a private tutor teachers are accessible for students per messaging, email, texting or phone.

I’m sure FL currently offers their internet public school globally & would probably negotiate to increasing service with other states for temporary coronavirus situation.
FLVS Global School

Through FLVS Global School, students in all 50 states and more than 65 countries around the world can take online courses with FLVS. More than 180 courses are available 24/7, so you can have access to core (NCAA-approved), elective, honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses no matter where you live. I agree with closing down the schools.

And my first thought is to those comments on “Why are people buying bottled water?”

Staying home with your young child is just one of several reasons why workers will not be going in to work. Lots of jobs can probably be done online - but I’m guessing running a water plant and maintenance isn’t one of them.

Kids are carriers.
They put their parents and grandparents at risk.

Unknowingly.

It's something the State Ed department will need to address.
