EXCLUSIVE: President Trumps re-election campaign filed a libel lawsuit against CNN on Friday for publishing false and defamatory statements about seeking Russias help in the 2020 election.
"The complaint alleges CNN was aware of the falsity at the time it published them but did so for the intentional purpose of hurting the campaign while misleading its own readers in the process... the campaign filed this lawsuit against CNN and the preceding suits against The New York Times and The Washington Post to hold the publishers accountable for their reckless false reporting and also to establish the truth, Senior Legal Adviser to Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. Jenna Ellis told Fox News.
FOX NEWS DIGITAL HAD BEST YEAR EVER IN 2019, TOPPING CNN.COM IN KEY CATEGORIES
Fox News obtained the complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia where CNN is located. It states in part that CNN claimed Trumps campaign assessed the potential risks and benefits of again seeking Russias help in 2020 and has decided to leave that option on the table.

It will keep the Democrat media tied up in court until well after the election.
Excellent. This will be cited every time there’s more lies from those clowns.
CNN, the Leader in Fake News.
The first two questions a person has to answer before litigating are, do you have the cash to pay for counsel through a proceeding and, do you have a percentage chance of prevailing sufficient to make it worth it?
The Trump team has the finances. The second question is less certain.
We need to support this by NOT CLICKING on Enemedia websites. No dimes from us. And not watching Enemedia cable or web channels.
Can anybody explain to me why AT&T hasn’t dumped/sold CNN since they acquired it with the Time Warner Purchase? It is a big time loser in many ways and hurts the AT&T image.
“This will be cited every time theres more lies from those clowns.”
Cited by who, other media? Maybe Fox and OAN the others will ignore it out of professional courtesy.
This may become the latest Best Election Ever.
The Trump Campaign.
The media can ignore it but President Trump can herald it and he will. It will make the Enemy of the People angry and angrier and the average American will listen to them and their hate against President Trump less.
There’s no losing here. It’s a brilliant move.
Perfect....make these CNN slime balls sweat for awhile.
BEST PREZ OF MY LIFETIME!

I think the reason is the way CABLE TELEVISION is set up.
The owners of the various channels require the cable providers to buy packages of channels. They pass these cost on to the subscribers.
In the cable TV world number of viewers may matter for ad rates but cable channels make money by just providing content even if no one watches their channels.
If Congress would open up the cable world and allow subscribers ala carte (get to pick the channels they want) CNN and others (like MSNBC) would go away.
This is becoming a self correcting problem as more people are cutting the cable because it is too expensive for the service provided.
Ironically CNN is today promoting a film they had made about the dangers of disinformation.
This complaint is absurd. None of CNN’s victims can read.
Skip Fox too.
Darn! My popcorn stock is low.
Would the plaintiff have a right to discovery to check what the deep state is feeding to cnn?
Assuming the case gets past premiliminary motion to dismiss, yes, plaintiff can ask for this sort of thing.
If CNN has material from the government that supports what CNN reported, then it has a defense to a claim of defamation. Assuming that CNN didn;t twist the government-provided material too far. The defense is that it had reason to believe what it reported was true.
Thanks. The case could be thrown early out on 1st amendment grounds. So far I have not found the Russia lies written anywhere except opinion pieces, although CNN’s on-camera talkers push them a lot.
