Testing at Iowa’s State Hygienic Laboratory has indicated three presumptive positive cases of 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Iowa residents. According to the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), the individuals are from Johnson County: one middle-age (41-60 years) adult and two older adults (61-80). Two of the individuals had underlying health conditions. One did not. None required hospitalization and are recovering at home in isolation.

EVERY case is, mild or serious, blasted on social media, traditional media, message boards. Unless one literally unplugs from the modern world, it’s unavoidable.
People who follow local affiliated on social media will see the same COVID stories several times a day.
I don’t recall this level of doom with H1N1, and the earlier days at the pandemic were damn scary as the virus was hell for young people, kids and the elderly. The first few cases in the USA were kids.
It’s to the point that they need to release statistics once a day, in the evening. I know people that are literally refreshing the John Hopkins site every ten minutes. How healthy is that?
If it wasn’t reports about COVID19, the boards would just be inundated with topics about NFL, XFL, and NCAA football. It’s a choice between individual updates about the virus, or individual threads about the newest assistant physical trainer hiring for the Miami Dolphins.
