Yes, I know it’s the case, since I was one of his campaign employees, during his last congressional campaign. I haven’t heard who Sanguinetti is backing.
Hey Phil, any word on whether you will actually be on the ballot in Cali? I just learned that the AIP primary is actually not binding and that the party doesn’t have to give you the nomination.
Their website has not been updated in while, it still has Trump/Pence up as 2016 nominees (”and God willing 2020”)
On Aug. 15 (my 11th wedding anniversary), the AIP will hold a convention and decide who their nominee will be. About a month ago, I emailed the state party chairman. The next day, he didn’t reply, so I called him and left a message. I still haven’t received a reply.
Maybe the chairman is pining for the fjords.
Hmmmn. Not a good sign. Do you know any of the delegates (God knows how they are selected)? They snubbed 2016 primary winner Alan Spears, who won a very fractured primary with just 19%. You are more prominent than him however.
They also snubbed 2012 primary winner Tom Noonan, a former party chair whom current leaders hated. They instead nominated Tom Hoeffling over Constitution nominee Virgil Goode.
They were the state affiliate of the CP until a violent split in 2008 when breakaway faction got Alan Keyes listed as the nominee.
I assume it will be a choice between you and Trump, possibly but hopefully not Blakenship as well, he is the presumptive nominee of the Constitution party (probably their worst ever).
Having the ballot line (actually NOT a separate line, Trump was listed as “Republican/American Independent) did absolutely nothing for Trump.
An aside, CA leg passed a bill to ban the use of “Independent” in a party name, they had the AIP in mind cause idiots who don’t know it’s a conservative party register as AIP members all the time thinking they are registering as independents (including a RINO City Councilman in Chula Vista who just ditched the GOP). Governor Newsom vetoed it, correctly surmising that is is unconstitutional.

No, I don’t know any of the delegates. I’ll email all of the state party officers, at least 10 days before the convention, and tell them some of my conservative views.
Disgusting, the AIP convention decided to nominate primary loser and con artist Rocky De La Fuente (who opposed President Trump in the GOP primary) for President. They nominated Kanye for Vice President. I would have understand if they wanted to nominate West for *President* but this POS De Le Fuente?

I was surprised by that news, since Rocky has run for office as a Democrat. In their primary, last March, I got about 50% more votes than he got. About two weeks ago, the AIP chairman emailed me and said that, during the convention, he’d make a motion that their presidential nominee will always be whoever wins their primary. He said that he thought I’d be their nominee.
I’ll be a write-in candidate in some parts of Illinois, if I know that I’ll get votes in those areas. I’ll get votes in Lake Co., DuPage Co., Will Co., Warren Co., Winnebago Co., and suburban Cook Co. If you live in another county or in Chicago and want to vote for me, please tell me, so that I’ll ensure that I’ll send a write-in form for that area.
