Pneumonia is what kills most of the CV19 victims, it may impact on this phenom, but this is not pneumonia-caused - at least not in most cases. Recovery from pneumonia is usally full.
It can cause scaring and permanent damage, but not usually. My father had scaring on his lungs from pneumonia as a child.
