I have no idea how you can’t see the obvious. The same number of people will shop during the open hours, so rather than reducing crowds, the store will become more crowded during open hours.

The workers can’t restock the shelves while the aisles are full; I’m not surprised by this. You’re right - it puts more people in there in a shorter window - but they have to be able to maintain the store/stock the shelves. Also, their cashiers are exhausted - and exposed to far more potential carriers than most of us.

I think they may be preparing for a reduced workforce. People stay home because no school or day care, fear,........,whatever. They may think they won’t be able to sustain 27/7. Just a guess.
