BTW, it needn’t be ginned up in a bioweapons lab. Smallpox was weaponized centuries ago.

It makes sense to me that the Seattle spike came from China given the proximity to Vancouver and the region being a popular anchor baby spot for Chinese.

I figured the east coast cases were from across the Atlantic.

Apparently the virologist from Fred Hutchinson here in Seattle has traced the Seattle strain of Wu Flu to the first patient in Minnesota.

Washington state patient zero flew from LAX to SeaTac airport. SeaTac is a transfer point for some flights to Minneapolis. Patient zero must have contaminated the flight before arriving Seattle.

Years ago I read some books about General Joseph “Vinegar Joe” Stilwell and his experiences in China during WWII. There are descriptions about how utterly unhygienic the Chinese are.

I cannot even fathom in my mind how this could spread at it has from one person, a patient zero. That concept is mind blowing, honestly. If it did happen then this contagion is incredible.
