It would seem that you totally missed the part where I said it had absolutely, utterly ~nothing~ to do with “prophecy” or “predictions” whatsoever, in any shape or form.
So lets get back to what the “data” shows:
1) the threat is real and is increasing almost unabated in the United states.
2) it is highly infectious. It can be transmitted by an infected person with either no or mild symptoms.
3) symptoms are “generally” much worse than that of the cold or flu.
4) symptoms usually increase become worse by day 6 or 7.
5) fatalities are often from secondary infections due to a weakened immune response.
6) deaths are uncommon in young adults and children.
7) the fatality rates are 5-20% for those over 60yr.
8) the fatality rates are <.1% for children.
9) any age group cam become infected with and transmit the disease.
10) transmission to the US was from international travelers from infected parts of the world.
11) whether the virus will mutate into a innocuous or worse from is unknown.
12) transmission is via air and collected on surfaces
13) environmental temperatures greater than 86F begin to kill the virus, so hope that it will decrease during summer months.
14) mask and gloves should be worn by infected and those in proximity to infected. Masks are made in China and stocks in US are nearly depleted.
15) health models are predicting peak infections to occur in June. Potential for hospitals to become overloaded is by May.
16) Assuming the absence of mutations and a safe vaccine, infections will increase again starting in the fall.
17) its not the zombie apocalypse or plague, but you should be very concerned.
Certainly the data has assumptions, but more than enough is here for those that understand math and statistics to be very concerned. I am most disappointment in the “uneducated” suggestions by some on our side that this is a hoax and no worse than the common cold.
