Yep, Jesus is worth dying for.

On the other hand, depending on where you attend, going to church isn't.

I attend a United Methodist Church. We have a good minister, but he is ham-strung by a sizable luke-warm component of our congregation (many liberal do-gooders).

While dying to get the true gospel to these do-gooders is a worthwhile sacrifice, dying to encourage these non-believers to maintain their luke-warm, progressive belief is not.
