Holy smokes, Trump approval rating pops…

According to ABC News, a new Ipsos poll released Friday shows that more Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak than not despite a high number of people saying their lives have been upended. This is a massive jump from what it was last week:

In the new poll, 55% of Americans approve of the president’s management of the crisis, compared to 43% who disapprove. Trump’s approval on this issue is up from last week, when the numbers were nearly reversed. Only 43% approved of Trump’s handling of the pandemic and 54% disapproved in last week’s poll.

Over the course of a week, the president has shifted his approach and tone, giving daily briefings on the crisis since Saturday, alongside the White House task force leading the response to the coronavirus and announcing some severe measures to combat the virus. He’s also taken on a more somber tone, saying of his own tenor “people actually liked it” as the reality of the scale of the virus set in.

This week, 72% said their lives have been disrupted in some way by the coronavirus, either by canceling going out to dinner, taking a vacation, or attending religious services, among other options, a massive 46-point leap from last week when only about one-quarter of Americans said the same.

The approval is also split down party lines, though it should be noted that even approval numbers among Democrats has doubled since last week and now sits at 30 percent. Sixty-nine disapprove but that’s down from 86 percent. Republicans overwhelmingly approve of the job Trump is doing at a whopping 92 percent.

China is THROUGH. All that stuff made over there won’t be anymore. Hopefully.“

Hopefully is right. Our globalist Republican leaders like Mitch and Lindsey won’t support bringing manufacturing home. They have cheap-labor donors to answer to.

There isn’t going to be any Depression. The Depression was a banking system collapse, not a virus induced recession. People will be returning to work and the economy will recover once this virus burns out.

Hopefully, but we're going to see many businesses going bankrupt over the next few months, so not everyone is going to be returning to work. And as the economy is frozen right now, beware of it triggering a financial crisis.

Just to point out a Trump economy that is completely shut down is still better than a fully humming Obama economy. He’ll be fine.

I don’t care what the polls say right now, if our economy is shut down much longer and it leads to depression, Trump is probably a goner in November

I don't think so. The majority of the voters are going to remember what the economy was doing before the Kung Flu hit. If voters go to the ballot box asking themselves who is better able to restore the American economy Trump or Biden, the President sails to re-election. Vast majorities will prefer to return to the pre-Kung Flu, Trump days than to the Obama-Biden era.

Trump and Congress are working on programs to reduce the number of bankruptcies.

“beware of it triggering a financial crisis”

And what do you think that would look like?

There’s no financial bubble to collapse like we had in 2008.

This is mass unemployment among people who are already itching to get out of their houses.

I do not watch TV. Period.

My wife (deceased) called Stephanopoulos, Snufalupicas (from Sesame Street). She said that with contempt in her voice.

“If we’re in a Depression come this fall, don’t expect those numbers to hold”“If we’re in a Depression come this fall, don’t expect those numbers to hold”

Oh sure, that makes sense, vote the guy out who built a global empire, turned our economy around, actually did something secure our borders, built the best economy in many decades, turned PC on it's head, rebuilt our military, supercharged the stock market, is totally America first, etc, and we'll all turn around and vote for yet another life long career establishment politician like Biden who's not done anything in his life but line his own pockets with cash and power...

Get real.

Hard to know where the problems are, but extreme situations like this cause stress throughout the system. If I had to look someplace first, it would be corporate debt.

After this panic is over, the world must evaluate China’s position and attitude in the world community. China is not a friend of the world. Just like communism, is a social disease rife with mass murder and mayhem. Stay away from it.
