1. China did not lock down the entire nation, and only Wuhan had a complete local shut down, though Cov-19 spread to other parts of China.
2. So much of “private” business in China is financed by, owned or controlled (majority “shareholder”) by the government entities and CCP party officials they can, without any “House and Senate vote”, command the treasury and central bank to underwrite (tell the banks to take care of) any Corona virus losses.

Less than two weeks in February for less than 1/2 the country. After that the orders went out to get back to work.
Trump’s Dr Fauci - with the U.S. cases far less than China - is claiming eight weeks of a total shutdown will no be enough.

My “investments” mean very little compared to all the pension funds, insurance companies (how they save to cover their risks), mutual funds hosting folks retirement accounts, ect. But I can see none of their problem concerns you one iota.
But, we are under the Trump recommended 15 day shut down. I have been able to move about freely, have you? No one welded my door shut. No one has stopped me at the end of my street. No one has stopped me from any commerce.
Fauci doesn’t run the country.
What are you afraid of? Your panic is as bad as some of the scaredy-cats I see on TV.
And what’s worse, is you cannot do a damn thing about any of it.
Also, go look at traffic in China. It’s not even close to being back.
Look at shipping. Still down about 40%.
China is far from back to work.
And explain how China mobile’s profit dropped almost 10% in two months. How many cell phones dropped is that?

You think this - my concern - is about me!!!!. That assumption is economic ignorance. It’s not about me. I will be O.K.
1. It is not Trump’s “recommended” 15 day shut down. There is no force of law in THAT. It is many governors who have commanded total shut downs in their states, and they need no federal law to do so and Trump cannot decree they lift those actions on his say so.
2. Is not my neck but the backs of primarily small and single proprietor businesses in the states that have commanded total shut downs of any business the state deems “nonessential”. That is where the weight of the shut down decrees is falling, hard. It is about their employees, their livelihoods, their ability to survive being deprived of revenue for what each of the state declarations have considered an “indefinite” time. I will get through this O.K. even if my pension takes a hit. Many small businesses and many of their employees will not.
The 100 person limit would be a challenge there too.
