FReeper Canteen ~ Sunday Chapel ~ KEEP MOVING ~ 22 March 2020
Serving The Best Troops and Veterans In The World !! | The Canteen Crew

Posted on 03/21/2020 4:59:01 PM PDT by Kathy in Alaska

KEEP MOVING

A college class was graduating on a hot and humid day. As the graduates walked across the platform and received their diplomas from the president of the college, he smiled, shook their hands, and said loudly, "Congratulations!" Then, in a much lower voice, one that was firm and could be heard only by the graduates, he would say, "Keep moving".

He was only trying to keep the line moving across the stage, but his words were good advice for a lifetime: "Keep moving". After every achievement growing up, graduation, marriage, job promotion, even retirement the best advice is, "Keep moving. Don't stop. Don't stagnate".

There is more to life than you have found thus far. This is not the end; it is only the beginning. "Keep moving."

When we approach life with this attitude, we look forward to the future and what God has in store for us.

Dear God:
I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman,
Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine
feel alone or forgotten.

O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For with the Lord there is loving kindness,
And with Him is abundant redemption.
And He will redeem Israel
From all his iniquities.

Psalm 130:7 & 8

Got a meltdown today with sun. The sun is a good supplement for cabin fever.

Happy Spring

Good evening, Mac...*HUGS*… and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours. All the family doing well? You?

Are you having to work from home yet?

Our Mayor is shutting down the city at 10p Sunday night. I got an email this afternoon from the boss...you will be working from home. It is now mandatory. *sigh*

The Picture of Despair

Bible in a Year:

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.

Psalm 107:6 During the Great Depression in the United States, photographer Dorothea Lange snapped a photo of Florence Owens Thompson and her children. This well-known photograph, Migrant Mother, is the picture of a mother’s despair in the aftermath of the failed pea harvest. Lange took it in Nipomo, California, while working for the Farm Security Administration, hoping to make them aware of the needs of the desperate seasonal farm laborers.

The book of Lamentations presents another snapshot of despair—that of Judah in the wake of the destruction of Jerusalem. Before the army of Nebuchadnezzar swept in to destroy the city, the people had suffered from starvation thanks to a siege (2 Kings 24:10–11). Though their turmoil was the result of years of disobedience to God, the writer of Lamentations cried out to God on behalf of his people (Lamentations 2:11–12).

While the author of Psalm 107 also describes a desperate time in Israel’s history (during Israel’s wanderings in the wilderness, vv. 4–5), the focus shifts to an action step to be taken in hard times: “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble” (v. 6). And what a wonderful result: “he delivered them from their distress.”

In despair? Don’t stay silent. Cry out to God. He hears and waits to restore your hope. Though He doesn’t always take us out of hard situations, He promises to be with us always.

Reflect & Pray

When have you experienced God’s help in a stressful time? How will you encourage someone this week who’s facing a crisis?

Heavenly Father, I’m grateful for Your comforting presence.

We're doing well, thanks. Both Mrs. MacNessa and I are now working from home. Daniel and John Man are working on site. While I applaud the Public Health concerns, which I believe are warranted, I've never seen anything like the hysteria accompanying this outbreak.

"I VOW TO THEE, my country, all earthly things above,
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love;
The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.

And there's another country, I've heard of long ago,
Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace."

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS AND OUR BELOVED NATION!

Amazing Grace
(Click)

By John Newton

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

Same feelings here...and the hysteria is strong. Our prog mayor has been trying hard to mimic Seattle and San Francisco for some time now. We need to get rid of him and the ruling unions!!

On a positive note, the spring bulbs have erupted here and they're covering up a lot of the cleanup I need to do. My daffodils are in full force and my Red Emperor tulips have erupted in the last two days. My Thalia daffodils, which are usually later in the Spring, are ready to bloom. All s well!

Good evening, mountainlion...and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

Sounds like spring is really trying to get to you.

We had snow overnight but the temps are staying above freezing, so the snow is not sticking, even as it snows gently now.
