“I think 17 days is bogus, but what does the industry do to get customers back with crap like this?”

For starters, it needs to get SERIOUS RESEARCH done, research showing that the dose you get from a doorknob can’t do jack to you, research showing that even infected people cannot easily pass it to others, unless they’re showing symptoms or unless they’re in very tight, low airflow, quarters.

Short of that, kiss that business gone. They cannot survive scare-stories like this unless they get serious about fighting back.

Yes.

99.9% kill is not sufficient for infection prevention.

Looking into it, if I can find the lights.

Also :

“...though it wasn’t possible to determine whether they caused any infections.”

Need to know the length of time it’s viable when deposited on various types of surfaces.

How do they know? They dont have any test kits.

Or.

Took them 19 days to get the test results.

Or

How many CDC employees to test for COVID 19? Nobody knows. They cant find any test kits.

There was once something similarly used in a a NASA development program. Photoscrub 5 is a specialized filter from an SBIR program designed to thwart anthrax. A Japanese American joint research effort it was—pachinko parlor smokers really needed better air filtration.

I’m convinced everybody at the CDC has an inside game going.
The ones who don’t are merely interns and they will learn.

just saw a story that a former Govt person is claiming CDC lied to the PResident about testing capabilities in the beginning

There's an article on here (OP a short time earlier) about one of the reasons CDC was so behind in this was after Obama's swine flu, they never fully recouped their readiness levels, and instead spent all their $$$ on Gun Control studies and other "social justice" activities.

What was the environment of the surfaces? How sure are they that nobody was "stealth carrying" and deposited the virus at a later time? How long before that had the virus stopped being viable as far as infecting anyone (being detectable and being viable are two different things).

Why is this cruise ship the first time we've had any inkling?

The sucky part is that there are far more questions than a bald assertion and idiots will go into a new panic over it.
