I don’t think GM or Ford can manufacture ventilators.

Assemble, perhaps but I doubt it. They lack the knowhow and certainly lack the necessary quality control

I saw a story today the Ford design uses a bunch of the HVAC parts from the world’s largest selling vehicle the F150 pickup.
Brilliant! Stuff that’s in the pipeline and mfg every day.
