This is a typical inflammatory article with very little evidence provided to back up its claims.
Call me an idealist, but I think the docs are trying to stockpile it so they don’t get sick as well as their nurses and assistants.
Why would you expect humans to NOT act selfishly simply because they have a Dr. in front of their name?
Does the author imagine that doctors have "magical" families that are just naturally immune to the coronavirus?
If a doctor's family gets sick, there's a chance he or she will get sick, and be taken off the field of battle by quarantine.
Also, a doctor will keep his or her nose to the coronavirus treatment grindstone while worrying about their at-home spouse's/childrens' falling victim to the disease. In some imaginary world...
The doctors that work with possible Covid patients, in the ER or ICUs should be taking it prophylactically. It should be offered to them, since the hospitals are not protecting them with n95 masks and gloves- all hospitals in the U.S. and the western world have this major, unbelievable shortage of protective equipment.
Hell - Walmart TP shelves are still emptied as fast as shipments come in...we bought 12 'extra' rolls a week or so ago and will probably not run out for 3 months or so if we don't buy any more - 2 of us usually buy a package of the "equivalent of 48 rolls" maybe 3 times a year...I have no idea where people are storing it - one purchase takes care of spare cabinet space for a while...
