In three-day surge, stocks recover 20 percent of losses

In a sweeping three-day surge unequaled in nearly 90 years, stock markets recovered almost a fifth of their lost value.

On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average soared 1,351 points, or 6.4 percent, while the S&P 500 spiked 155 points, or 6.2 percent.

The Dow's three-day gains were the largest since 1931, and the S&P's were the largest since 1933, raising markets from three-year lows.

The upswing came despite data showing a record-shattering spike in initial unemployment claims, which reached nearly 3.3 million in the third week of March, roughly five times the previous record.

Instead, markets focused on the Senate's passage of a $2.2 trillion economic recovery package, which the Senate approved unanimously late Wednesday night and the House was expected to pass Friday.

Dems are saddened, while some are on suicide watch.

You can tell which way the market is going by the amount of anti-Trump stories coming out of the MSM today. The Washington Post, Politico, and the major networks are doubling down on their anti-Trump screeds. Vicious attacks are the norm today...

Big drops often retrace 50% - then the real fun begins.

The Dems will start demanding for even more and longer lockdowns. Already they are saying 3+ months in some places.

I’m not in the market, have very little cash, but had the idea yesterday to look at Carnival Cruise stock.

Looks like a good deal. Would like to put $2k into it, but my wife is not up for it. Oh well.

You’re thinking correctly.
I bought Carnival (CUK) near the bottom, $10.
Historically it’s a $50 stock.
I give it 6-12 months to get all the way back.

BUYING

There is still 80% left to get back to the previous target.

Do DemonRATS have any more doom and gloom scenarios left? How about Comet C/2019 Y4 (ATLAS)? Let’s change the actual tract and tell the sheeple it has a 90% chance of hitting the Earth at 5 pm on May 19th (NYC). “Scientists” have no problem with forging climate data so there shouldn’t be any problem getting the astronomy crowd on board with this scam. Once they figure out this lie will get rid of Trump once and for all they will start generating the necessary hysteria.

I wouldn’t recommend all the eggs in one basket. Started buying Carnival at 22 and kept buying as it dropped below 10. My average is 15 and now I’m up about 15%. Maybe you can convince your wife to allow you to put 500 into an online platform such as Robinhood or Webull... not Stockpile as it doesn’t allow purchase of shares below $5. Diversify. Among others I think Ford is still very cheap

I bought it on a whim, really.
But it’s up 20% or so.
Re: Your comments on Ford.
I think it’s really a $2-$3 stock, management sucks.
But has some good products coming up (new F-150, Bronco...)
I’m watching it, but waiting for its drop.

Very little of a presence outside of the 401K.

Maybe this payday with the money I’m saving on driving to the office I can buy a little of this or that beyond the normal tiny bit I do.

Look at options, it would take only a few hundred to purchase a call. Good luck.
