Joe is simply a place-card holder, and nothing will be said until the last primary (Kentucky).

Agreed.

I think his job was to do nothing more than stop Bernie's momentum (which he did well); having a 'crazy' at the top of the ticket would have been disastrous for the Dems in November.

Bernie has not given up. His impassioned speech in the Senate where he spoke against the Republicans fight to keep low income workers from possibly getting more than their usual pay for up to four months was very emotionally persuasive, especially to his constituents. While Republicans are correct that this could be a disincentive for these low income workers to go back to work, the Republicans were wrong to press it so hard. In the overall almost 2 TRILLION (who can even think in these amounts?) dollar bill, the extra money that the 10 and 12 dollar an hour workers will get is very small.

Perhaps Republican Senators were more concerned about how important these workers are to getting the economy rolling again (why go to work when you can get more just sitting home?) than the money but they sound uncaring about low income workers. It made a perfect opening to energize Bernie and his supporters. It will be hard for the Dems to dump both Biden and Bernie
