Trump’s DHS Starts to Import 85,000 H-1B Graduate Gig Workers
Breitbart ^ | 27 Mar 2020 | NEIL MUNRO

President Donald Trump’s deputies announced Friday that they had begun the process of importing 85,000 H-1B gig workers to take white-collar jobs that will be needed after October by the millions of American graduates who are now losing jobs in the coronavirus crash. “This is just an unspeakable action,” said Marie Larson, a co-founder of the American Workers Coalition, which opposes the many visa worker programs that have transferred at least one million white-collar jobs to foreign workers. “I don’t believe President Trump ordered this — the swamp went ahead with this,” she said.

“If the H-1B program is just for filling jobs that Americans cannot fill amid for labor shortages, then this would not be happening,” said John Miano, a lawyer with the Immigration Law Reform Institute. “But it is not a labor-shortage program — it is a cheap labor program to displace Americans,” he said.

[…] Non-profits — such as hospitals and universities — are allowed to also import an unlimited number of “cap-exempt” H-1Bs for white-collar jobs.

Roughly 100,000 new H-1B workers arrive each year. But they are allowed to stay for many years, so companies have gradually built up a resident workforce of roughly 900,000 H-1B workers, alongside several hundred thousand additional white-collar workers carrying L-1, OPT, CPT, E-3, B-1, TN, H4EAD documents. […]

Those justifications include a so-called “Labor Condition Application” document approved by the Department of Labor. The LCAs describe the intended job for each H-1B worker. Business advocates use the LCA process to claim that imported workers do not displace Americans.

But the LCA process does not require the companies to show that Americans cannot be hired for the job. Also, the LCA documents are rubber-stamped by the department. […]

A few - and even fewer are better than ANY American. That last small group is the only one we should even consider giving work visas to; and for them, we still need to blow up the current H-1B system, which was designed to hide the low wages paid, and ensure that they are not more cheap labor suppressing American salaries.

The President is listening to someone he shouldn't - the swamp needs to be drained from the top. I wonder if DHS head Chad Wolf is a pal of Javanka's ...

If we are to insist on buying American, we also need to insist on hiring American.

Why the he’ll do we need to import more foreigners who want to turn the country into the same shithole they left? They have been driving down wages in the tech sector for more than two decades.

Now I am losing my cool.

I can’t go to a place where I will be the sole person in the middle of 1,000 acres because of the lockdown.

I can go there from here and totally avoid any contact with any person while enroute.

Yet we allow people to come here from places known to be infected with all manner of deadly disease..

I am a loyal Trump fan, but he needs to can a lot more of his people

You imply that’s o.k. to bring the good ones? Think that through.
It displaces Americans who deserve the jobs.

It is a racket.

Not sure I believe this. H1-B is normally people who already live here. Normally they are students. Or family of other workers or students. We aren’t normally importing H1-B workers. Many were F1 first then move to H1-B after their F1 expires. The F1 is a year of practical work after graduation from a US college. The H1-B allows a 3 year period of working and can be renewed for an additional 3 years. In that time you either get a green card or you don’t. They let in about 250,000 of these a year. The idea is that it keeps the population growing slightly. The US would be shrinking if not for immigration. We don’t have enough babies per families to keep up the population.

Now that is not to say that I support all immigration. But we do need to fill in the working ages a bit. Millennials are the largest group. But under them we have a fall off. Boomers are a big generation. Gen X is too small. Gen Y (millennials) are big enough. But Gen Z is not. Ideally, we would like to have enough working aged people to take care of and pay for the retirement of the larger boomer generation that is 56 to 74. The strategy is to grow no more than 1% a year. But not to shrink. If you shrink the economy starts to shrink as well. Homes, stocks, and other invests loose their value.

Just because it is Breitbart does not mean that we should not do our own checking. They can be just as much glory hogs as the rest.

This is not the first bad hire from that WH .
This former Indian H 1 Visas lobbyist had what qualifications for a supposed American First WH .
The last DHS was a open borders Bushie .
Is this evil lobbyist. snake another Bushie ?

This reckless WH Admin official during a a virus mess which DHS has mismanaged, a massive job loss period and recession
will kill reelection chances .

Trump did not run on Indian H 1 visas first platform .

The WH admin actions here tell a ugly story.
