It's like the AIDS bug chasers. Possibilties:

• They think it's a hoax.
• They think because of their age, there can't have any serious consequences.
• They don't think they will spread it.
• They don't care if they spread it.
• They want to get it early before the hospitals fill up.
• They want to get it over with so they can do what they want.
• They have a death wish.
• They are rebelling about being told what to do.

Or maybe they are looking at the odds and deciding that since they’re in their favor they’ll roll the dice, stop cowering in their homes, and get on with their lives.

Yes, they might get it and die. They may slip in the shower and get a fatal head injury while getting ready for the party. They might die on the way to the party by crashing their car or stepping in front of a bus. They may pick up the regular flu from another party guest that proves fatal.

Life is full of risks. And no matter how careful we are, one day we’ll die. It’s funny that way.
