Federal judge grants Planned Parenthood in Texas restraining order against abortion ban during pandemic

Planned Parenthood, the country’s largest abortion corporation, will be allowed to continue committing abortions in Texas during the COVID-19 pandemic. CBS News reporter Kate Smith broke the news on Twitter, announcing that a federal judge granted Planned Parenthood and the Center of Reproductive Rights a temporary restraining order against Attorney General Ken Paxton’s order for all abortions to be banned.

Calling abortions non-essential services during the coronavirus pandemic, any abortion that was considered not medically necessary for the life or health of the mother was not allowed, with abortionists who violated the order facing a $1,000 fine or 180 days of jail time. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott had previously issued an executive order to expand hospital bed capacity as much as possible, and Paxton said that played into the decision to suspend abortions. “No one is exempt from the governor’s executive order on medically unnecessary surgeries and procedures, including abortion providers,” Paxton said in a statement. “Those who violate the governor’s order will be met with the full force of the law.”

Paxton also slammed abortion facilities as being careless and inconsiderate during this time of crisis. “Medical professionals are in dire need of supplies, and abortion providers who refuse to follow state law are demonstrating a clear disregard for Texans suffering from this medical crisis,” a statement read. “All Texans must work together to stop the spread of COVID-19. My office will continue to defend Governor Abbott’s Order to ensure that supplies and personal protective gear reach the hardworking medical professionals who need it the most during this health crisis.”

Abortionists immediately fired back that abortion is “essential health care” and filed a lawsuit to have the ban overturned. Judge Lee Yeakel ruled today that upholding the ban would cause women to “suffer serious and irreparable harm,” according to CBS News. Of course, in reality, abortion is never medically necessary, and it is not health care. Previously, Yeakel ruled to allow barbaric second trimester D&E abortions to continue in the state.

Meanwhile, the ACLU is filing lawsuits, along with Planned Parenthood, to overturn similar bans on elective procedures in Iowa, Ohio, Oklahoma and Alabama. These lawsuits come as other non-essential health care procedures, which do not take any lives are are not medically necessary, are similarly paused so that all available personal protective gear, respirators, and hospital beds can go toward the fight against the coronavirus.

The slaughter all began in Texas, with Roe v. Wade, with attorneys Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffee taking advantage of Norma McCorvey, who never was pregnant, who reported on the attorneys extreme lack of respect for her as a client.

GWB appointee. This particular one has ruled in favor of abortion at least twice.

I thought we had to hold our noses and vote R “for the Judges”?

A GWB judge also played a big role in homo “matrimony”.

Background on the judge, a George W. Bushi appointee. Sounds like quite a judicial activist for abortion.

I hear what you are saying, but for the record, what kind of judge would Al Gore or GWB’s primary opponent (John McCain) have appointed?

It’s easy to be a Monday morning quarterback, isn’t it?

Norma McCorvey was pregnant according to her. She never had an abortion even though she won the case.

Ignore this Judge and his stupid order. Slap a Quarantine sticker on the door and arrest anyone who violates it.

Including this joke of a Judge.

With the Left’s new found desire to do, or at least silence when it comes to doing, nation-building in the Middle East, I really don’t see that their problem with Bush was all about. I suppose he was a little too moderate for them.

Abortion rulings

On October 28, 2013, Yeakel ruled that abortion restrictions enacted by the state of Texas were unconstitutional, in the case of Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt.[1] Yeakel wrote: “The admitting-privileges provision of House Bill 2 does not bear a rational relationship to the legitimate right of the state in preserving and promoting fetal life or a woman’s health and, in any event, places a substantial obstacle in the path of a woman seeking an abortion of a nonviable fetus and is thus an undue burden to her.”

Three days later, Yeakel’s order was mostly overturned by a three-judge panel of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans[3] The part of the law requiring doctors in abortion facilities have admitting privileges at local hospitals was unanimously reinstated by the panel.[3] Only one part of Yeakel’s order remained and that part was where the order prevents the state from enforcing the FDA protocol for abortion-inducing drugs in cases where the woman is between 50 and 63 days into her pregnancy. On August 29, 2014, in response to a second lawsuit, Judge Yeakel ruled again that abortion restrictions in Texas H. B. 2 imposed an “undue burden” upon women seeking pre-viability abortions and upon abortion providers, and declared several provisions of the law unconstitutional.

Yeakel’s rulings were upheld by the United States Supreme Court in June 2016.

In March 2020, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced that abortion providers were covered by a state order that required postponement of non-urgent medical procedures to preserve hospital beds and equipment during the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic. On March 30, 2020, Yeakel ruled that Paxton’s action “prevents Texas women from exercising what the Supreme Court has declared is their fundamental constitutional right to terminate a pregnancy before a fetus is viable”

Now we see what abortion is all about.

It’s about killing people.

We may be approaching a French Revolution type uprising in this country against these communistic “judges” (and, of course, the NaziCommie DNC type extreme leftist political hacks).
these so called judges are just stooges for the worst Anti-American political extremist playbook...they do not rule on the law and they display utter contempt for our US Constitution and our liberties as a free people

it is disgusting

Once again, the courts ignore simple judicial rules. They did NOT have a plaintiff that was arguing harm. No woman came to the court and said “I need an abortion, and can’t get one”.

This was a lawsuit by the provider of the abortion.

Now, do you think this same judge would entertain a lawsuit by a cosmetic surgical center arguing it was illegal to stop women from getting breast implants?

I would hope that an emergency executive order of this nature would trump a judge’s opinion.
