Johnny Quest was my alter ego back, back when I was eight or nine years old.
Now I realize that the show left out a lot, like showing Dr. Quest as he struggled to write batches of proposals and monthly status reports to the government agencies that were supporting his research and paying for the fuel for his wonderful private jet.
The engine sound effects of which used (I’ve since realized) the J-79 engine, probably in an F-104 Starfighter.
I thought the F-104 used a J-52 or 57...

I did work on GG4 (J57) for a turbine company for making electricity
nothing better than N2 at 12K RPM, the exhaust case glows red so deep it is almost translucent, some claim they could see blades at times.
