People living with HIV under the age of 50 lose lung function faster than HIV-negative people, a review of a large US cohort has shown. People with a previous low CD4 cell count also had faster declines in lung function.
The findings were presented at the 2020 Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections. Conference presentations are taking place online to minimise the risk of coronavirus transmission.

Well that is a lie, they have HIV, they are no longer “healthy” sure they can live with the condition for decades now, it is no longer an instant death sentence like it was back in the 80’s but to say they are healthy is a lie in itself.
We will probably find out that the healthy folks dying from covid-19 probably had hiv and/or herpes.
Why are we hearing so much about HIV recently? It’s almost as if gay activists are put out that the Coronavirus is stealing all of the headlines and they feel marginalized.
Come on ev’rybody we’ve got quilting to do.
Actually, the gay community is the most vulnerable, because gays have naturally weak immune systems.
This is why the LGBT is terrified right now. I predict COVID-19 will be like a miniature AIDS.
Maybe because some of the medications for HIV have been seen to help Corona V. patients during their recovery.

I do not have hiv. My scare is that I will die from this pandemic. Congested and staying upright now. Coughing hard.
This is part of why I asked yesterday for a definition of “healthy” in comments on a post that said Washington State was going to prioritize Wuhanic Plague treatment for healthy people. I would not be surprised to find out later that some of these “healthy” young people who have died of the covid 19 virus have been HIV-positive.
I remember in the early 80’s when AIDS was first named, that many of the individuals who died, actually died from pneumonia. I was working at Auburn (NY) prison, and inmates who tested positive for it were put into isolation. Back then, being HIV positive was a death sentence.
Who knew that Human IMMUNODEFICIENCY Virus would cause immune deficiency?

It still is, just takes longer. I suspect the end stages are just as nasty.
