More news about Hydroxychloroquine, from Michigan, where the governor quickly climbed down from her initial comments, probably due to public unhappiness with her stance.

Henry Ford was the ONLY place where they would do a hip replacement on my wife.

All the others, even Mao, wouldnt touch it. Even the place near Phoenix that do the joint repairs for the baseball major league and NFL players wouldnt touch it.

Also, my sister in law works there.

It seems to me there should be a way to streamline the process of conducting a simple clinical trial to prevent the crippling of a country’s health and economy.

I’m not a doctor but I can read medical articles, and what I’ve read suggest that HCQ has two properties of value here. One, it alters the pH of the cell making it more difficult for the virus to take over the cell and reproduce (viruses can’t reproduce on their own) and two, it acts to modulate the immune response, which helps to prevent the cytokine storm which often results in death as the body attacks its own organs. The first is the reason that it is being taken by healthcare workers as a prophylactic to keep from getting the disease and the second seems beneficial for those who have it.

The point being, it seems that HCQ ought to be used across the spectrum of covid-19 not on just the sickest. Of course Michigan is lucky to be able to use it at all, thanks to their idiot governor.

The doctor quoted said that the reason they’re only giving it to hospitalized patients is because it can cause heart problems so people have to be monitored.

I call B.S.

There are lots of people with lupus and arthritis on the drug and they certainly aren’t hospitalized while they’re on it.

“We are not using it in outpatients, we're not using it in patients with mild infection, we are using it, however, in patients that are sick enough to be hospitalized with pneumonia that we feel are at risk of progressing their infection.”

That’s a good step. Would be a shame though if you end up needing to admit those outpatients in a few days when a few pills may have kept the bed open for somebody else.

“....says benefits outweigh risks....”

Finally someone has approached this with some clear thinking. If anyone reads the MSDS on the product, they will understand that the drug in possibly the quantities needed, as each person is different, could be just as lethal as the virus, maybe more. So Henry Ford gets the tip of my hat for being honest.

This hospital has been using the HCQ (Trump Pills) through the last three weeks, according to another story that was posted on Free Republic.

That means that they were doing it in defiance of the Dem Governor’s order not to.

They must have felt very strongly that they needed to use these drugs, as a life or death issue. Results have borne them out.

How many people elsewhere throughout the State (who did not have such well informed and courageous doctors), died as a result of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s petty and politically motivated restriction?

Those families should be located, and given legal representation to pursue justice.

Has Hydroxychloroquine manufacture gone to ludicrous speed yet?
