They are really pushing from those bank account numbers, but they don’t come right out and say that they won’t send a check. Initially the media was reporting that they will send a check at a later date. The IRS says nothing.

they already have bank account numbers for SS recipients as a law passed in 2013 REQUIRES electronic deposits for SS payments ...

If you don’t direct deposit your IRS refund (if you get one), then it will come in the mail, else direct deposit
