Interesting that you posted that.

No offense to anyone who is retired and taking SS, but if one is retired and on a fixed income already, it doesnt seem to me that those are the ones hurt by the shut down. Seems to me its those that lost jobs or income that are affected and in need of any assistance. Thats why this should have all been handled by shoring up the unemployment systems and reductions in payroll tax, not silly redistribution checks.

I agree, this is a relief package, not a stimulus package.

While living on SS or government aid may be difficult, the China Flu has not caused that. I think the individual payouts should be limited to people that are directly financially harmed by the shutting down of the economy, including those who qualify for unemployment (including self-employed that may qualify under the new rules).
