These commercial gyms may never recover from this disaster.
I am..we have a great Chinese virus Facebook group..several of the local CrossFit gyms banded together. The day before the gyms were forced to close, members were allowed to check out equipment.
Every day they post workouts for those who have equipment at home, or for those who do not. We post photos after workouts, photos of our healthy meals...and members post all kinds of great recipes. They just started “zoom” workouts after it was clear we had to shut down for another month.
They sent out a notice that we would get a $40/month discount for the month of April..but most members donated it back to pay for those members who might be without work. #FitFam.:) Or, it might really be a cult...lol.

And heres why. The older folks (like me) were the only ones wiping down the equipment after use. The younger people just moved from machine to machine, leaving us to clean up after them.
I figured it wasnt worth the hastle. So I went back to taking long walks and using dumbbells at home.

My gym closed on March 19, said they’d froze and extend membership.
Both gyms extending membership for the duration of their closure. One is a county recreation facility; the other is a major chain. Didn’t ask for anything. Both just announced.
my husband works at a gym and they are letting people freeze their memberships. Plus they are doing on line videos.
My old crappy home gym that i have had forever is really coming in handy now.

My Pilates studio is open for private classes only. Normally I am in a class of 6. I decided to pay the extra for a private class,
I am subject to refusal of service if I display any symptoms, must wash my hands before my session, and each piece of equipment is wiped down before and after I use it,
