On FBN, when they cut away, all they do is play a re-run of Dobbs’ 5:00 show. And then they play another re-run at 10 p.m. Dobbs is good, but he ain’t THAT good. Just show the damn briefing.

I wonder if the people who watch the MSM networks even know that the press briefings are still happening? Are they advertised anywhere that folks watching those channels would see?

I find it hard to believe that more than 50% of the people in the USA think that Trump is doing a bad job, unless they have never seen these press briefings (or if abortion,etc. is their main concern.... they are hopeless).

Good point. That’s part of the problem... The under 30s don’t have much life experience. Yet they tell us all how we should live our lives...

Wow. The President just gave the young press a lesson in life, things happen that no one can predict and life is turned upside down. What do we do? Ignore it and ride through it? Then people die, lots like in 1918. How does the President handle this? Blow through it and lose 2 million people? Instead listen to the Docs, and they have been proven right. Have to close the country to avoid that level of death. His tone is very measured, very low key, very instructive. Then positive, we will be bigger and better and stronger at the other end. But we have to get through this.

I didn’t hear any questions about the chloroquinin/azithromycin medication either. Cuomo is only allowing it for about 1000 patients in a study group. Would they hide the results if they are good?

Any govs who do not even know what they have, when they ask the feds for more, are behaving like the hoarders who have depleted our stores of various items. Maybe some states have never done proper inventory and will find that lots of stuff has “walked away” and other things are hopelessly out of date.

That’s why it’s very hard and unemployment in general is confusing.
It’s hard to answer questions that are specific.
Someone will ask on my social media, “What does this mean for my claim?”
But it’s very fact specific.

For the expansion, the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance which means benefits for the self-employed and independent contractors —
while we’re still waiting for guidance on eligibility requirements from the federal government,
the first steps will always be the same.

The first step is they have to be denied for unemployment first.
The law clearly says this is for individuals who would otherwise have been ineligible.
No matter what, the first step is doing to be to go through the denial process.

Q: Would they then appeal?

A: No, it wouldn’t be an appeal.
This is the part we’re waiting for from the federal government.
When we were speaking to the U.S. Dept. of Labor, I asked specifically about Disaster Unemployment Assistance and if we can just break out the old programming and they said no, much to my chagrin.

One, we are a federally-administered system so we need to know what we have to do to give out that assistance.
Two, if we give out money improperly, then people would have to give that money back.

Q: So should gig workers and self-employed people apply and wait?

A: Yep, for now. Hopefully we will have better guidance when the DOL gets back to us.
People have asked why we aren’t giving answers like New York but they are telling people the same thing: apply and get denied.


Mr. President,

If a person gets denied and doesn't appeal, I believe their claim gets shelved.
None of this is sounding right to me.
Hoping your administration will straighten this out, because this sounds hokey to me.

There is a very good reason for you to think that way about Cuomo.

President Trump has a way of sizing up people. Remember when he said Biden has lost his “fast ball?”
His opinion of Cuomo is similar to that, IMHO, because as PDJT said about Wisconsin Gov...”.she’s in way over her head.” Same thing for Cuomo. Plus he is not beyond telling a lie.

Press is being aggressive this afternoon - they have an agenda to make the Treasury Secretary and the SBA look bad, actually had a report that the two are fighting over details of the forms and such. The two looked at each other and smiled - not happening he said, don’t know where you got the info.

I watched that exchange and thought it was very clear that the President wanted to make sure the reporters and the American people understand that he thinks most Americans are being very responsive and cooperating with the Presidential guidelines.

As opposed to scarf lady who had just finished bashing the American people for the curve going up too high - being because people were NOT cooperating.

Watch the headlines tomorrow - or tonight - will say the President thinks Americans are not cooperating.....which is NOT what he was saying at all.
